We've seen quite a few add-on jelly lens that you can either seal on or clip on to a smartphone but ExoLens takes it a step further by offering a wide-angle, telephoto and macro add on lens using Zeiss optics. Quite obviously, the add-on lenses are much larger than your average jelly lens, but the frame is also suitably larger as well and can be mounted on a standard tripod stand. So far, it is just for the Apple iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, 6 and 6 Plus but there are plans for a Samsung Galaxy phone version as well. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details but ExoLens should be available in Q2 2016 at $299 (RM1322) for the macro and wide-angle lens or $199 (RM880) for the telephoto lens.

While the CES 2016 craze is still on-going, Xiaomi has decided to release a teaser regarding the Redmi 3 smartphone. Judging by the teaser, it’s safe to say that the device will indeed be launched on next Tuesday, 12 January.

Casio are taking a crack at the smartwatch connundrum with their rugged military grade Casio Smart Outdoor Watch. Featuring a MIL-STD-810G military standard exterior that is water resistant up to 50 meters the watch has a double layer screen, one in colour and one in monochrome LCD.
The colour screen lets you use it like a standard Android Wear smartwatch but only lasts about a day, while the monochrome LCD version tells the time but lasts about a month. The watch has a built-in microphone, pressure sensor, accelerometer and compass. However, while there are no Malaysia release dates or pricing details it is expected to go for $500 (RM2200) or more.

The invites are out and we now know that the ASUS ZenFone Zoom will finally be arriving here in Malaysia on 13.1.2016. Tech specs and features include an Intel Atom processor and a 13MP rear camera with laser autofocus, 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. Quite clearly, the ZenFone Zoom is targeted at the smartphone photographers out there but there are still no Malaysia pricing details just yet. Sony Corporation revealed many new products during CES 2016 planned for this year, the products revealed by Sony Electronics (SEL) President and COO Michael Fasulo were the X93D series of BRAVIA 4K LCD TV, new Sony audio products, three new camcorder series, and two new Life Space UX products which can be found below.

Logitech has revealed a new gaming mouse for Malaysia and it’s a new addition to Logitech’s Proteus Core line - the G502 Proteus Spectrum RGB Gaming Mouse. The battle mouse will be available soon in mid January with a price tag of RM369 (with GST).
The new G502 Proteus Spectrum is designed to be customizable to the gamer’s needs with 11 programmable buttons, removable weights, and changeable per-game profile settings with the help of Logitech Gaming Software.

As you may know already, Xiaomi CEO and tech analyst Pan Jiutang have commented that the Xiaomi Mi 5 won’t be arriving so soon due to the stock of the new Qualcomm chip, the Snapdragon 820. And as the saying goes “third time’s a charm”, Liwan Jiang, co-founder and Senior VP of Xiaomi have announced that the Mi 5 will indeed be equipped with the latest Qualcomm chip and will be in stock after the Chinese Spring Festival in February.

New leaked images from Taiwanese website Apple.club.tw have appeared and it was claimed to be the backlight assembly of the Apple iPhone 7. According to them, the backlight assembly is quite similar to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, except that the 3D Touch chip and LCD flex cables are relocated.
Apple.club.tw also speculated that if it’s not the iPhone 7, then it could be the upcoming rumoured 4-inch “iPhone 6c”. But it doesn’t fit the puzzle as it was reported that the device will not have a 3D Touch feature. Also, the backlight assembly seems too big for a 4-inch iPhone.

Samsung rumours is back (again) and this time from Weibo, an “alleged” image leak shows us a tech specs chart comparisons between the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge +.
Looking at the chart, there doesn’t seem to be much differences in their display, RAM power, and storage. The S7 series battery however, is a huge jump from their predecessors, and it goes in line with theprevious battery rumour upgrade. Next, both anticipated devices are expected upgrade their chipset and processors as well. It could either be powered by the Exynos 8 Octa 8890 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip, which is quite new to the market.

Huawei recently announced the global launch of the Huawei Mate 8 globally at CES 2016. Featuring tech specs that include the latest Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor, the Mate 8 ups the ante from its previous devices (Huawei Nexus 6P and Huawei Mate S) by also including a 6-inch display, 16MP rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and phase detection autofocus with a 4000 mAh battery. You can see the full tech spec comparison with our comparison tool but it looks like with the global launch the Mate 8 could soon be coming to Malaysia (further supported by a poster from Huawei Device APAC of the Mate 8).
No Malaysia release dates or pricing details but the Mate 8 is currently going from 599 euros (RM2831) for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage version and 699 euros (RM3303) for the 4GB RAM / 64GB storage version. At its initial launch the three variants costs were the 3GB + 32 GB model for CNY 2999 (RM1985.09), 4GB + 64GB for CNY 3699 (RM2448.43) and 4GB + 128GB for CNY 4399 (RM2911.78).
