We most recently saw a dual camera setup on the Honor 6 Plus smartphone and it offered hardware-based bokeh shots for those who like to blur or zoom in to certain portions of the picture after it has been taken. According to rumours and serial leaker @upleaks, the Lenovo Vibe S1 could be the world's first smartphone to have a dual camera setup on the front, so you can take bokeh selfie shots. While we estimate that the two front cameras are at most 8MP each, other tech specs includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage + microSD, a 5-inch FHD display, 13MP rear camera with LED flash and Android 5.0 Lollipop. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet, but as always with such rumours, do take this with a pinch of salt.

After months of guessing the upcoming Android M name, Google has made it official by putting up an Android statue holding a Marshmallow outside of the building. Previously, Android 5.0 was codenamed L and eventually called Lollipop. It turns out when Android 6.0 comes out later this year, it will likely be called Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Android 6.0 SDK is currently available for developers looking to update while the final Developer Preview is also available for download. New features expected to come with Android MarshMallow include a Doze feature that will induce a deeper sleep during standby therefore improving battery life. Fingerprint scanning will also be built into the operating system along with a new permissions model for apps management. No Malaysia release dates for when Android 6.0 Marshmallow is coming for all of the various Malaysian smartphones but such updates will likely take time, with a probable release sometime at the end of the year. In related news, Google's Project Ara modular smartphone has been delayed to 2016.

Sony Malaysia recently launched their newest Sony α7R II, Cyber-shot RX10 II and Cyber-shot RX100 IV digital cameras for Malaysia. Packing in a 42.4MP full-frame Sony Exmor R CMOS sensor featuring ISO up to 102400, high speed AF with 3999 focal plane phase detection AF and 5-axis image stabilization, the α7R II is a lightweight but durable interchangeable lens digital camera for the professional and semi-professional constantly on the move. Even when zoomed in, the amount of detail and resolution for images caught with the α7R II are simply stunning, which perhaps justifies the Malaysia pricing of RM11999 for just the body. As expected, Samsung have unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ smartphone at the recent Galaxy Unpacked event. Bearing the same dual-curved screen on both sides the Galaxy S6 edge+ bumps up the screen size to a larger 5.7-inch 2K display. As with the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6 edge+ does not pack in a microSD slot but ups the storage options to 32GB and 64GB along with 4GB of RAM and the latest and greatest Samsung Exynos 7420 processor. Camera tech specs remain the same with a 16MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilization along with a 5MP front camera with f/1.9 aperture. It also has 4G LTE Cat 9 connectivity with NFC and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) to accomodate the upcoming Samsung Pay feature. Again like the Note 5, the Galaxy S6 edge+ also packs in quick wireless charging but the wireless charger does not come bundled. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details but again the Galaxy S6 edge+ will be released in the US from 21 August 2015. After months of rumours, Samsung have officially announced their Samsung Galaxy Note 5 phablet for public consumption. Gone is the artificial leather backside to be replaced with a very Galaxy S6-like glass and metal back and thinner profile. Featuring a new 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 2K or QHD resolution, the new Note 5 packs in the same S Pen but it can now be auto ejected. As rumoured, it also packs in tech specs that include the latest Samsung Exynos 7420 processor, 4GB RAM, 16GB / 32GB storage options, a 16MP rear camera with wide f/1.9 aperture, optical image stabilization and auto real-time HDR along with a 5MP front camera with f/1.9 aperture and a fingerprint sensor. There are obvious sacrifices to this new look as the battery is now a smaller 3000 mAh and there is no option for any microSD slot. On the other hand, it is one of the first smartphones to have quick wireless charging with a 2 hour charge time. No Malaysia release date or pricing details yet but it is expected to arrive in the US on 21 August 2015. We expect the Malaysia release to be within the same month of August 2015.
