The Samsung Galaxy S8 obviously didn't appear at the MWC 2017 recently, but that's not stopping numerous sites from creating or citing rumour buzz on the upcoming flagship. Already teased by Samsung that the device will be unpacked on 29 March 2017, we are getting more "legit" leaks of how the phone will look like.

If you had not heard of Android One, well it was originally an idea by Google in partnership with local manufacturers, to produce low-priced smartphones to be sold in emerging markets. These devices are made to Google’s specifications and runs on stock Android. All Android One phones are guaranteed one OS upgrade, whereby the security and system updates are handled by Google themselves.

Well, the latest Android One phone announced, the GM6, comes from Turkish manufacturer, General Mobile. It is the first Android One device to feature a fingerprint reader, which is placed at the bottom of the screen, and also acts as its home button too.

ASUS is finally starting its Android Nougat update rollout. They are kicking it off with the ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe, but it’s for the smaller 5.5-inch (ZS550KL) model for now.

Samsung officially and rather quietly announced their rugged Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 smartphone for €259 (RM1212) with a release in Europe sometime in April 2017. Tech specs are rather low-end with a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 4.99-inch 720p display, 2800 mAh battery and supposedly very good 13MP rear camera with a 5MP front camera. What is important is that the Galaxy Xcover 4 packs in IP68 dust and water resistance along with MIL-STD 810G military grade temperature and shock resistance.

We reported earlier that Maxis might have plans to introduce a smartphone of their own, and it might will be made available from 3 March onwards. Well, looks like they had made it official! Maxis had just launched the device, which is called the NeXT M1, and it’ll be priced at RM78/month as a ready to use plan which includes the device, calls minutes and data as a bundle.

After reaching out to Huawei Malaysia, while it may be true that Malaysians might get the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus early, it won't be launched on 8 March 2017 as so many other sites have said. As stated in the invite, it will be a "product briefing". We think it will probably be a media plus dealers event where we might find out when the P10 and P10 Plus actually are available.
