It's no doubt that smartphones have become an integral part of our lives and it's a fierce competition in the smartphone industry. Various brands are releasing more devices faster and while some focus on functions, others focus on premium design or the best of both worlds, such as the Huawei Mate 20 X.

When it comes to smartphones, performance and battery endurance are two important factors that most customers care about. However, it's kind of hard to balance it out. Most smartphones with a high-end processor tend to drain out the battery quite easily and most battery capacities on flagships aren't that big either, usually starting from 3000mAh... but not for the Huawei Mate 20 X.

We've already seen a little bit of what the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and other Mate 20 series smartphones can do with their new LEICA Triple rear cameras and Super Macro mode with our previous close-up photos. Capable of going from wide-angle to a super close 2.5cm away, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the Super Macro mode really lets you get up close without having to use any extra macro lens.

However, there's a whole bunch of other interesting things you can find out if you really can go up as close as the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Taking that into account we went even closer than before to see what else you can find with Super Macro mode. Check them out in no particular order below.

To those who are trying to decide between the Huawei Mate 20 X and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, it may be a difficult decision because both smartphones share similar tech specs but there are a few stark differences that set both devices apart. But if you’re a gamer and want an immersive experience while gaming, you should definitely get the Mate 20 X and here's why.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro offers a new LEICA lens coupled with a 40MP + 20MP + 8MP triple rear camera setup that allows you to take photos in wide angle or 0.6X to 5X Hybrid Zoom and even all the way up to 10x digital zoom. Previously Huawei NEXT-IMAGE participants took advantage of these wide-angle and zoom features to take detailed and beautiful photos of various spots around the world.

While the new Leica wide-angle lens allows you to take photos as close as 2.5cm away it also lets you take great wide-angle shots, so some participants in particular tried out the Mate 20 Pro in 0.6X or wide-angle, 1x (normal), 3X zoom (optical) and 5X zoom (hybrid). Following in their footsteps, we also tried it out for ourselves and you can see what the pros can do and what we mostly normal photographers (no edits, no filters, everything on auto) managed to get with the Mate 20 Pro.

Sometimes when it comes to gaming, you do not necessarily need a flagship smartphone as most of the phones out there these days are more than capable of providing decent performance. It’s true that most flagship smartphones out there come shipped with extra features to improve your gaming experiences such as a higher refresh rate display, dedicated gaming buttons and more. However, that also comes with a significantly higher price tag which I personally feel, is not worth the extra cost.

We depend heavily on smartphones due to the fact that it can be used to do anything ranging from watching videos on the internet, playing games, to unlocking your house using a smart-home system. However, it is rather annoying when you head out of your house with a fully charged phone only to find out that that the battery dropped to around 75% just 2 hours later, and it's not even the end of the day yet. This makes us carry a powerbank as a necessity especially when there are barely any power outlets available throughout the day.

Some would say that the only remedy to this situation is to buy a flagship phone with a large battery. But that is not completely true, as there are many smartphones out there in the market with a decent battery size that are priced less than RM1000 such as the Huawei Y9 (2019).
