Celcom are currently offering the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge from RM1088 and RM1488 respectively (unfortunately, not inclusive of 6% GST). The two smartphone are still technically on pre-order though, so users will only be able to collect their devices on 16 April 2015. As usual, subscribers will have to sign up for a 24 month contract under the FIRST by Celcom postpaid plans within the pre-order period. Celcom is currently the only place to get the Samsung Galaxy S6 in Blue Topaz and they will also give a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3V worth RM499 for the first 600 subscribers during the pre-order period. There will apparently be a larger launch for the two devices after the pre-order period, with perhaps different freebies or package deals, so if this looks attractive to you, do drop by a participating participating outlet. It isn't that much of a secret that the Huawei P8 is coming soon, even as soon as 15 April 2015. However, a lower-end version of the smartphone called the Huawei P8 Lite was recently rumoured to be coming along with the Huawei P8 which has in turn been rumoured to come with an updated Kirin 935 processor with better graphics. Recently, the Huawei P8 Lite became a reality with it's TENAA certification in China. Tech specs and features for the Huawei P8 Lite include a 1.2GHz octa-core Kirin 620 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage and 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. Featuring a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera it is starting to sound a lot like the Honor 4C but the Huawei P8 Lite measures in at 7.7mm thin and 131g. With the recent announcement and release of the Honor 4X for RM619 on pre-order it looks like we'll soon be seeing a lower-end version of the smartphone in the form of the Honor 4C which recently made an appearance at China's TENAA. Tech specs include a slightly slower but still octa-core 1.2GHz processor (probably still the 64-bit Kirin 620), 2GB of RAM, 8GB storage and a smaller 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. The cameras remain the same though with a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. For the looks of the pictures, this Honor 4C smartphone retains the same cross-thatch design on the cover as the Honor 4X and retains the same capacitive function keys as the Honor 4X. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet, but with the Honor 4X retailing from RM619 to RM699 we assume that the Honor 4C would go for around RM499 to RM599, slotting in between the Honor 3C Lite and the Honor 4X or perhapseven replacing the Honor 3C.

Continuing their ongoing trend of not fixing something that isn't broken, HTC have officially announced the HTC One M8s which is basically the same HTC One M8 but with an updated 64-bit processor and 13MP dual rear camera. HTC has seen fit to get rid of the UltraPixel rear camera completely with nearly every other tech spec remaining the same. This isn't exactly a bad thing if you're a really, really big fan of the HTC One M8, but it definitely won't look any different than before. The full tech specs and features include a 64-bit 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB Storage + microSD, 5-inch display with full HD 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, a 13MP rear dual camera and a 5MP front camera. The One M8s weighs in at 160g and 146.36 x 70.6 x 9.55mm and comes with a 2840 mAh battery along with Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense. Set for release in the UK at £379.99 (RM2062) there are as yet no plans for a Malaysia release date or any local pricing details. In any case, we're more likely to see the HTC One M8s at the DirectD Gadget Mega Store and other third party sellers like SatuGadget before any official HTC Malaysia release anytime soon.

When it was first released last year, the ASUS PadFone S made a big splash as one of the most feature-filled value smartphones for below RM1K. Retailing at just RM899 it packed in a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage, a 5-inch full HD display, 4G LTE, NFC, IPX2 splash resistance and a 13MP rear camera with 4K and slow motion video recording. While we've yet to see any PadFone S 2 yet, there may be another option in the form of the ASUS PadFone S Plus, which packs in 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on top of everything else. Leaked by Dynamics Distribution, the PadFone S Plus looks to be compatible with the same accessories, including the docking station and wireless bluetooth keyboard. The additional RAM and storage should add on a bit more in terms of performance but it should feel like the original PadFone S so you can read our ASUS PadFone S review here for a clearer idea. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet but it should be soon as Dynamics Distribution is the local distributor for ASUS and many other mobile devices.
