So apparently, ASUS Malaysia has released a teaser image on their Facebook page announcing another budget-friendly device coming soon. It's none other than the ASUS ZenFone Max (M2), the younger sibling to the current ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 and it's slated to be released on 11 January 2019.

And true enough, ASUS officially launched another budget-friendly smartphone in Indonesia where we got to have a first look of the device. Officially launched in Jakarta, Indonesia, the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 has also officially gone on sale online on ASUS Malaysia page on both Lazada Malaysia and Shopee Malaysia but with different models. As mentioned in our coverage news yesterday, the 4GB + 64GB model will only be on Lazada for RM859 while the 6GB + 64GB model is on Shopee for RM999. Obviously, it's marketed for the gaming community on a budget so if you're considering it, you may check out our unboxing and hands-on video below, trying out the camera, gaming and even a drop test!

Today, the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 has finally been revealed in Jakarta, Indonesia after weeks of teases here and there. It's a rather quick release after its predecessor back in July 2018 and for our local set, it seems that Malaysia will be getting two models which are the 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 64GB model for the official price of RM859 and RM999 respectively. Only a week until the big reveal of the much anticipated ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 as well as the Max M2 and it seems like the tech specs of the smartphone has been leaked. Reportedly, the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 will be rocking the Snapdragon 660 and 4GB RAM while the Max M2 will be sporting the Snapdragon 636 and 4GB of RAM.

ASUS officially teased the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 on the ASUS Indonesia Twitter account. This phone is featured as a gaming smartphone with the hashtag #NextGenerationGaming. The phone will be launched on the 11th of December. Though, we suspect that the device was teased due to a video leaking the device by Youtuber “GadgetsNow”, whose video was removed only a mere few minutes later.

Well known leaker Roland Quandt (@rquandt) today tweeted about the upcoming budget phone by ASUS, which is the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro (M2). He claims that the smartphone could be launched soon in two variants, one with a triple rear camera.
