News & Reviews:   Apple iPhone 4

The fourth iteration of the iPhone is certainly the most controversial handset so far. Hardware leaks, suicides and police raids have all formed part of this smartphone's turbulent journey to market.

iPhone 4 - Build:

The first thing you'll notice when holding the iPhone 4 is just how incredible the build quality is. It feel incredibly pleasing in the hand and actually, make the 3GS feel, well, a bit chubby and cheap. The front and back are black glass with a brushed steel band running round the phone.

Apple introduced the iPhone 4S today (4-10-2011). The news was underwhelming and disappointing to many who were also expecting an iPhone 5. There's also the fact that the iPhone 4S looks almost identical to the iPhone 4. However, there's more than meets the eye, as Apple made a number of changes under the hood to improve on performance, including a faster processor, a more advanced camera, and a new antenna design. In addition, Apple expanded its family to include Sprint and a 64GB model.

iPhone 4S: Processor and Battery Life

The iPhone 4S features Apple's A5 dual-core 1GHz processor along with a dual-core GPU. Apple says the new chipset will make the iPhone 4S twice as fast and offer graphics performance that is seven times faster than the iPhone 4's. Despite the more powerful processor, the company claims the smartphone will be able to provide 8 hours of talk time over 3G, 14 hours over 2G, 6 hours of browsing over 3G, 9 hours via Wi-Fi, 10 hours of video playback, and 40 hours of music playback.

Apple's iOS 7 operating system has finally become downloadable for everyone with a compatible Apple device. The full list of Apple devices capable of downloading the iOS 7 update include the Apple iPod Touch, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S,iPhone 5, iPad 2, iPad with Retina display (iPad 3 and iPad 4) and iPad mini. As always when updating something as big as an operating system, always remember to backup all your important data on the device and make sure you have enough space to download and install everything (in this case 3GB of free space is the recommended amount). Make sure you also have a fast connection and a full battery, just in case.

According to insider information, the next Apple iPhone, which should be the Apple iPhone 5S, is coming soon on 10 September 2013. This fits with previous release dates which also happened around this time period and while the rumour circulating is about the iPhone 5S release, it will also mark the final release of other related devices and products like perhaps iOS 7 (which is already in beta 5) and the supposedly low-cost Apple iPhone 5C. While these are the more definite announcements that are likely to happen on that date, bear in mind that the Apple iPad 5 could also make an appearance as backplate housing for the tablet has surfaced. The Apple iPad mini with Retina Display on the other hand is still slated for around 2014 though.

In a move that will make some people who have always wanted an Apple iPhone very happy, Maxis is now offering the Apple iPhone 4 (8GB) for FREE with their TalkMore48 plan and a 1GB data plan. In effect it means that all you're really paying for are the TalkMore48+1GB data plan bundle. You will have to sign up for a 24 months contract though. Like other Maxis TalkMore48 bundle promotions you'll have to pay RM96 (RM48 + RM48) per month.

iPhone 4G Features and Concept:

iPhone 4G has been recognized as one of the greatest leaps when compared to the various existing 3 G phones. This is because of the belief that this phone will have some of those features which have not existed earlier in even the smartest of the phones.  The iPhone 4G has got a lot of cell phone companies and consumers dueling on themselves waiting for its release, so here is our spoiler info.
