  • All Apple iPhones drop tested

    All Apple iPhones drop tested

The folks at TechRax did a drop test for all of the Apple iPhone smartphones. This included a side drop and front facing drop for each iPhone onto a hard driveway, revealing that while most of the iPhones can take a beating from the side, nearly all of them smashed from the front. Granted, the front of the Apple iPhone 3G did not shatter but this was mainly due to luck as it dropped on the side first. While it doesn't seem to show any difference from beginning to end, it does show that if you're going to get any Apple iPhone, the first thing you should do is get a shock-proof casing around it quick because an accidental front drop will probably result in a shattered screen. Check it out for yourself in this article.

    Apple announces iOS 8

Apple recently made several announcements at this year's WWDC 2014 and one of the biggest was that of iOS 8, the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system. Powering your Apple iPhones and iPads, iOS 8 brings a number of innovations to the fore including an improved Health hub app, a more useful Siri, notifications that you can take action on and widgets. Other notable features include the addition of a new predictive and learning QuickType keyboard along with support for third-party keyboards so you can eventually download SwiftKey or other onscreen keyboards if you don't like the new QuickType. Other new features of note include Family Sharing where you can share media with family, better integration with iCloud Drive for more storage on the Internet and Spotlight which works like a combination of the search on Windows 8 and Google Now. Improved Maps and other features round off the new additions.

  • Maxis lets you trade-in your smartphone for an Apple iPhone 5s starting at RM0

Maxis lets you trade-in your smartphone for an Apple iPhone 5s starting at RM0

As if preparing early for the coming of the Apple iPhone 6, Maxis have opened up a trade-in program for the Apple iPhone 5s. You will need to have an iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy S3 or Galaxy Note 2 you're not using though, as these 4 smartphones are the only ones Maxis will accept for the trade-in. The trade-in period is from now till 31 July 2014 (which sort of makes us think we could see the iPhone 6 sooner than earlier expected). You will have to sign up for a Maxis iValue plan under a 24 month contract though. Loyal Maxis users who have been with Maxis longer than 1 year won't have to pay the advance payment. Maxis won't require you to bring the box, charger or accessories when you trade-in your old smartphone but you'll have to go to a Maxis Center or Maxis Exclusive Partner shop to do the trade-in. Check out the details in the table and links in this article.

  • Apple iPhone 4S Malaysia Review

    Apple iPhone 4S Malaysia Review

Apple introduced the iPhone 4S today (4-10-2011). The news was underwhelming and disappointing to many who were also expecting an iPhone 5. There's also the fact that the iPhone 4S looks almost identical to the iPhone 4. However, there's more than meets the eye, as Apple made a number of changes under the hood to improve on performance, including a faster processor, a more advanced camera, and a new antenna design. In addition, Apple expanded its family to include Sprint and a 64GB model.

iPhone 4S: Processor and Battery Life

The iPhone 4S features Apple's A5 dual-core 1GHz processor along with a dual-core GPU. Apple says the new chipset will make the iPhone 4S twice as fast and offer graphics performance that is seven times faster than the iPhone 4's. Despite the more powerful processor, the company claims the smartphone will be able to provide 8 hours of talk time over 3G, 14 hours over 2G, 6 hours of browsing over 3G, 9 hours via Wi-Fi, 10 hours of video playback, and 40 hours of music playback.
