Despite only being released today, the Google Pixel Watch has been in public knowledge for quite some time now thanks to Google itself purposely ‘leaking’ details of the wearable. Officially launched during an event earlier today, the Pixel Watch comes in a single size, which is a 41mm case with a domed, scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 5 crystal.

Google is gearing to launch the Pixel 7 series next week. Besides smartphones, the tech giant is also bringing the first Pixel smartwatch, which we have known how it looks completely through a promo video. Until now, the packaging box has been leaked as well, revealing a box design that is different from what we've seen from the others.

The Google Pixel Watch, the tech giant’s first foray into the smartwatch market is set for release later this year and according to a new leak, it may not be the flagship wearable that Pixel fans have been craving for. Get this, the upcoming Pixel Watch may be powered by an almost 4-year old chip, the Exynos 9110 found in the first Samsung Galaxy Watch released back in 2018.

A few years back, smartwatches used to be the domain of only a few brands. Fast forward to 2021 and more brands have launched their smartwatches. Having said that, Google itself has never launched an in-house smartwatch. That could change in 2022 though.

While Google is a big contributor to the Android open source project, the company doesn't make much in the way of actual hardware. A few years ago, Google and LG were working on a Pixel Watch but that it got cancelled in the end. Now, a new rumour claims that Google is going to launch it after all.
