DxOMark has recently released tests results for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and determined that the device is ranked as one of the top camera smartphones currently available in the market next to the Huawei P20 Pro. Taking a closer look at the test results of both the smartphones mentioned, they both managed to score similar overall results in the Photography department. The video aspect, on the other hand, the Huawei P20 Pro tops the Mate 20 Pro by just one point overall.

Barely 3 months after the release of the Huawei Mate 20 series, case renders of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro popped up on the internet showcasing a larger camera module as compared to the current implementation. Which suggests that the Huawei Mate 30 Pro could come with up to 5 camera sensors judging by the space.

We've already seen a little bit of what the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and other Mate 20 series smartphones can do with their new LEICA Triple rear cameras and Super Macro mode with our previous close-up photos. Capable of going from wide-angle to a super close 2.5cm away, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the Super Macro mode really lets you get up close without having to use any extra macro lens.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro offers a new LEICA lens coupled with a 40MP + 20MP + 8MP triple rear camera setup that allows you to take photos in wide angle or 0.6X to 5X Hybrid Zoom and even all the way up to 10x digital zoom. Previously Huawei NEXT-IMAGE participants took advantage of these wide-angle and zoom features to take detailed and beautiful photos of various spots around the world.
While the new Leica wide-angle lens allows you to take photos as close as 2.5cm away it also lets you take great wide-angle shots, so some participants in particular tried out the Mate 20 Pro in 0.6X or wide-angle, 1x (normal), 3X zoom (optical) and 5X zoom (hybrid). Following in their footsteps, we also tried it out for ourselves and you can see what the pros can do and what we mostly normal photographers (no edits, no filters, everything on auto) managed to get with the Mate 20 Pro.

To all you guys and gals out there whose significant others has casted them away from the title of Instagram boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife/etc, let me just say, I feel you. And now you’re dreading this New Year’s Eve because they might berate you and feel let down every time you take a photo for them, especially when timing is crucial like the stroke of midnight where the fireworks come out. Most New Year’s Eve photos are in low light due to the fact that it is, well, at night. You’d either be at a dimly lit party, a cosy and low lit restaurant or home or even outside in an area overseeing a scenery to catch the fireworks. This is when photos often come out blurry, grainy and dark.

Huawei consumer BG has announced that the Chinese manufacturer has sold more than 200 million smartphones in the year of 2018, outselling 2017 by nearly 50 million units, pulling ahead of Apple in terms of sales 3 quarters in a row, retaining its number 2 spot as the second best smartphone brand internationally. This is largely due to the “out-of-the-box” thinking and design philosophy that Huawei did in order to design and manufacture their smartphones while retaining a "consumer-centric" focus on innovation.
