News & Reviews:   Huawei Mate 20 Pro pre-order

After the weekend Huawei Mate 20 series launch here in Malaysia, it appears that reception of the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro has been exceptional globally as well as massive crowds converged in both Shanghai, China and Singapore. Reported by GizGuide and CNA Lifestyle, long lines and massive crowds weren’t just a thing here in Malaysia apparently, as crowds lined up from 6am (Malaysians started queuing from 1am) to pick up their pre-ordered devices or get a brand new Mate 20 or Mate 20 Pro smartphone. As for the rest of the world, the Philippines has started pre-orders for the Mate 20 series.

It’s no secret we were there at the London launch of the Huawei Mate 20 series, one of which is the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Featuring the new 7nm dual NPU equipped Kirin 980, the Mate 20 Pro not only utilized this new chipset but also featured a revamped LEICA Triple rear camera so we thought we'd get some shots from London with love and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

The sales launch roadshows for the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, MateBook X Pro and MateBook D have gone off with a bang. With huge crowds gathering at Pavilion KL, the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro came to Malaysia at RM2799 and RM3599 respectively.

For those who missed the fact that the Huawei MateBook X Pro with Intel Core i7 processor is coming to Malaysia soon, here's a shout-out in that it will be available at the previously mentioned roadshows starting from the sales launch on 27 October 2018 from 9.00am but in limited quantities. While the MateBook X Pro and MateBook D were previously available for pre-order, the MateBook X Pro with Intel Core i7 processor was not included. In addition, the first early birds in the queue will get free Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) earbuds to go with the Dolby Atmos audio.

Right after the release of the Huawei Mate 20 series in London on 16 October 2018. Toutiau.com has reported that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro has been praised by as much as 14 medias in Europe such as CHIP, ComputerBild, Connect, Les Numeriques, FrAndroid and more. Some of them has even stated that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro could even the best smartphone of 2018.

Huawei Malaysia has announced that pre-orders for the MateBook series consisting of the Huawei MateBook X Pro and MateBook D have sold out, with more MateBook X Pro laptops selling than the MateBook D. But fret not, for those who are still interested in getting some of the first Huawei Matebook laptops in Malaysia you can do so at the official sales launch roadshows happening at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Queensbay Mall Penang or at Aeon Mall Dato’ Onn in Johor Bahru from 27 October 2018.

With the recent pre-order of the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Malaysia has announced that the flagship has already sold out on its online shop, Lazada as well as 3ex online website. We don't know how many units did they sell, though, but the popular demand is there and customers who couldn't get it can still wait for the official launch day on 27 October 2018.

When Huawei revealed their new Huawei Mate 20 series consisting of the Huawei Mate 20, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Mate 20X and Porsche Design Huawei Mate 20RS, what was our reaction? Right after the global launch, Huawei Malaysia have announced that the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20X are coming to Malaysia as soon as 27 October 2018 for the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro. The Huawei Mate 20 will come in just black with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage for RM2799, while the Mate 20 Pro will come in black, twilight and emerald green with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage for RM3599. The early birds who purchase it will get a free SoundStone and Wireless Charger respectively. 

Today, Huawei has finally unveiled the latest Mate 20 series along with other two products including the Huawei Watch GT and Band 3 Pro the but we'll cover these separately. Powered by the Kirin 980 chipset, a new Nano Memory card and more, the series includes the Huawei Mate 20, starting from €799 (4GB + 128GB, ~RM3837) and €849 (6GB + 128GB, ~RM4078), €1049 (~RM5038) for the Mate 20 Pro,  €899 (~RM4318) for the Mate 20X and the Porsche Design Mate 20 RS in two variants -  €1659 (8GB + 256GB, ~RM8141) and €2095 (8GB + 512GB, ~RM10062). All the phones except the Mate 20X (26 October 2018) are now available worldwide but we don't have a clear date for Malaysia's release.
