When we talk about the best camera on a smartphone, the Huawei P series is definitely one of the top that comes to mind. Can you remember how the P series has climbed in popularity a step at a time to become the market leader in smartphone photography?

In the spirit of Huawei P30’s recent launch, let’s look back at the evolution of the P series. Here’s some of our more notable highlights.

It's been quite a year for Huawei, they have successfully released the P10 series, Nova 2i got huge sales and the latest Mate 10 series are getting good recognition over the world. But the company isn't resting just yet, they are already thinking of 2018 and get this - they are already working on a foldable smartphone!

Just last week, some of you have probably heard of Celcom's newest, craziest and biggest plans. Yup, we are talking about the latest FIRST Gold Supreme and FIRST Platinum Plus postpaid plans that we covered last week which is offering everyone 100GB and 50GB worth of Internet data and more.

Huawei's Consumer Business Group also received awards from the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) with the EISA Smartphone Camera 2017-2018 Award for the Huawei P10 and the EISA Wearable Device 2017-2018 Award for the Huawei Watch 2. As the 5th consecutive year that the Huawei P series has been recognised by EISA Awards, the Huawei P10 won thanks to its Leica dual rear camera, Leica front camera, 3D face detection, dynamic illumination and other technology. Priced at an RRP of RM2499, recent price drops have seen it go to as low as RM1939.

The Huawei Watch 2 on the other hand won due to its stand-alone 4G technology, IP68 dust and waterproof rating, improved battery life, personalized health coach, fitness tracking and more. While it was quite highly priced initially at an RRP of RM1999, the sportier Watch 2 can now be had for as low as RM1457.

As per tradition of Huawei Malaysia, the company will be offering exclusive gifts to every customer who participates the Merdeka-Malaysia Day Promo Campaign. Starting from 11 August until 1 October, gifts will be available on selected phones, tablets and honor series with up to RM399. Check out the table below on what gifts are being offered:

In this modern era, if you don't have a partner then a smartphone is your next best companion (it's ok, nothing to be ashamed of lol). We had fun producing the Perfect Companion - Huawei P10 video because we wanted to highlight what it can do as a "companion" with its many features such as the Portrait Mode, SuperCharging technology, 3D Facial recognition, and of course the Leica lens that are on the dual rear and front camera sensors. All in all, a perfect companion for a phoneographer.

Huawei recently announced that they have jumped up to 83, reaching the top 100 rankings for the global Fortune 500 2017 list. Coming up from 129 in 2016, Huawei achieved a total revenue of $78.51 billion with solid contributions from its flagship Huawei P series and Mate series such as the Huawei P10 and Mate 9. The upcoming Huawei Mate 10 and coming soon to Malaysia Nova 2 Plus also look to be solid contributors as well, so stay tuned for that at TechNave.com.

Finally, after great effort, we managed to get these three top-tier smartphones against each other in a battle of photography. First up, we have the Samsung Galaxy S8 (RM3299) featuring a Dual Pixel 12MP camera against the improved 12MP RGB + 20MP monochrome camera sensor on the Huawei P10 (RM2499), and facing off the hipster's device Apple iPhone 7 (RM3199) using a normal 12MP camera. So which phone takes better pictures? Well, we have taken a bunch of photos using all three devices so check them out below...
