Earlier, MediaTek has unveiled two of its 6nm-based chipsets that are the Dimesity 1200 and 1100. Now, it's time for the manufacturer to announce its mid-range chipsets for this year. According to a source, there will be two new 5G mid-range chipsets coming and they might be based on an older 10 or 12mm process.

Yesterday, MediaTek had launched its first 6nm chipsets that are the Dimenisty 1200 and Dimensity 1100. At the same time, realme announced that it is launching a flagship with the Dimensity 1200. Today, it is confirmed that Redmi will also become one of the first smartphone manufacturers to launch a device with the latest flagship chipset as well.

Today, MediaTek has announced its first 6nm chipsets that are the Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100. Comparing both, the Dimensity 1200 is more of a flagship chipset from the manufacturer while the Dimensity 1100 targets the affordable premium 5G smartphone sector. The chipsets will debut in smartphones by the end of March this year.

Rumours of MediaTek's next chipset has been around since November 2020. Allegedly, the chipset will be on par with the Snapdragon 865 and will launch on 20 January 2021. At first, it was believed that MediaTek would only launch one, but now there are hints of another chipset.

Technologies nowadays are advancing rapidly and this goes the same for smartphones too. Just recently, popular leakster Digital Chat Station just read some technical data about MediaTek's next chipset and it's said to be more powerful than the Snapdragon 865 chipset.

2021 is no doubt the year for 5nm chipsets to become the staple in the smartphone industry. With Apple, Samsung, and Qualcomm already presented theirs, it's time for another huge chip manufacturer MediaTek to do the job. On 20 January, the manufacturer will hold an event to introduce its latest invention.

MediaTek's G80 chipset has been out for some time and we've seen some devices that come with it. Now it seems there could be a new device that will be using it. A benchmark for what could be an upcoming vivo smartphone has been found and it uses the Helio G80 chipset.

Microchips are constantly improving, but the ones that come next year might show some of the biggest leaps in performance yet. Allegedly, MediaTek has been working on mid-range chipset based on for some time now and it could be a chipset that can beat even the Snapdragon 865.

After parting ways with TSMC, HUAWEI has secured a big stock of Dimensity chipsets from MediaTek, as discovered from the chip manufacturer's quarterly results. Now, it is reported that HUAWEI might soon announce a bunch of smartphones that come with MediaTek's chipsets.
