Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook today revealed that starting next year, the Transport Ministry will implement an initiative in which you may have to pay to get a physical driving license. Furthermore, he iterated that the Government will continue with the implementation of digital driving licenses and road tax in Malaysia.

The MyJPJ application now appears to have been updated and offers users the option to also log in using a MyDigital ID – apart from the option to log in or register a separate account for MyJPJ. So, what should you know about it?

This week has been a messy one for the Malaysian government. On the first day of October 2024, it was announced on the MyJPJ app that it would be compulsory to log in with MyDigital ID. The process wasn't smooth, as users encountered errors which led to a U-turn, for now.

After the recent announcement that you won’t need to have a MyDigital ID to get your driving details using the MyJPJ app for now, the MyDigital ID team have apologized via their site. Today, the MyJPJ app has a new update that's going to take effect on 10 October 2024. If you log in to your account on the app, you will encounter a new message with a new compulsory login method via MyDigital ID.

If you have a vehicle with a grant in hand, you can now check the vehicle grant digitally directly from the MyJPJ application. The Vehicle Ownership Certificate (e-VOC) display can be checked in your Profile section. So, what should you know about it?
