The International Trade and Industry Ministry (MITI) has revealed that it would be discussing with national car manufacturers Proton and Perodua on expediting the production of electric vehicles (EVs). Its minister, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said that both companies would produce national EVs and introduce affordable EVs to Malaysians.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has proposed for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Perodua to forge cooperation in introducing affordable electric vehicle (EV) charging rates in Malaysia.
