Qualcomm must be laughing now as it seems Apple can't avoid using Qualcomm 5G modem chipsets for a few more years. Recently, a public document was found detailing a partnership where Qualcomm will supply Apple with Qualcomm chipsets.

A new rumour has appeared, claiming that Qualcomm could be launching the Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset as early as Q3 2020. Back in 2018, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 855 chipset in December, before following up with the Plus version in July 2019. If Qualcomm follows this pattern, the Q3 2020 launch window could be true.

Based on an image posted on weibo.com, it seems that Lenovo might be unveiling their own gaming smartphone which will come equipped with Qualcomm’s top of the line Snapdragon 865 chipset. Furthermore, the second image that was posted hints that the aforementioned gaming phone is capable of scoring up to or even more than 600000 points on Antutu benchmark.

Qualcomm has not given up on developing 4G chipsets yet, as the company has announced three new chipsets today and they are all non-5G compatible. Although 5G is making its way to our lives, it is still not that fast to be fully available in every corner of the world at the moment. Therefore, 4G smartphones will still continue hitting the market until its time has come to an end.

When it comes to gaming smartphones, their prices can be quite high sometimes depends on what brand you’re getting from. If you’re looking for a gaming smartphone that comes with a really affordable price tag, you might need to wait for a while as MediaTek is planning to bring gaming chipset to even cheaper phones.

Many brands rely on Qualcomm's mobile chipsets these days but there are others that are trying to gain more market share. Apple and Huawei have an advantage here, being able to manufacture their own chips, like the A13 Bionic and Kirin 990. But Samsung actively uses Qualcomm chips in many of its devices and needs orders for chips to improve its chip business. Unfortunately, Qualcomm may not want to play ball.

vivo has recently announced, that they will be one of the first smartphone manufacturers to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset in their upcoming smartphones. The aforementioned chipset also features the X55 5G Modem-RF System, which is capable of reaching speeds of up to 7.5 Gbps.

During the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit, Qualcomm has announced that they’ve been working closely with the developers of PUBG Mobile to implement 90FPS gaming in the future. But that’s not all, androidauthority.com has mentioned that the game could support up to 144FPS gameplay as well provided the smartphone’s display supports it.

Earlier today, we saw Qualcomm announcing its latest Snapdragon 865 and 765 chipsets. At the same time, many brands have confirmed that they will be offering smartphones equipped with the new chipsets. Looks like 2020 will be a year filled with Qualcomm 5G-powered phones.

The Snapdragon Tech Summit 2019 had plenty to show this year and one of it is a new iteration of Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. This new 3D Sonic Max is designed to scan two fingers, instead of one, using an in-display ultrasonic sensor.
