Last month, it was rumoured that Samsung would be looking to drop the ToF (Time of Flight) sensor for the Galaxy S21 series smartphones. Allegedly, the company felt that its ToF sensor isn't useful or powerful enough, compared to those from other manufacturers. However, it seems that the company already has a new type of ToF sensor for the Galaxy S21 series.

Samsung is one of the leading companies when it comes to manufacturing smartphone components. Not only the company is currently making Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 875G chipset, but they have also announced a few image sensors with 0.7μm pixel size today.

Based on a report by myfixguide.com, it seems that Qualcomm has contracted Samsung to manufacture the Snapdragon 875G chipset, which could be released somewhere around the end of this year. While not much is known in regards to which smartphone will come with the aforementioned chip, we do know that the contract is worth around ~RM3.5 billion.
