Today, Sony Malaysia is bringing in the 6th Sony PlayStation 5 pre-order and it will start tonight from 21 May 2021 at 00.01 AM later. It's a bit odd that the pre-order is still ongoing until this day but here's what you need to know.

Other than Nintendo, another gaming console maker Sony is also facing the chip shortage issue. During a private briefing held by the company for the analysts, the attendees were told that the PlayStation 5 shortages could stretch into next year.

Today, Sony Malaysia just announced that the fifth batch for the PlayStation 5 pre-order. From their Facebook post, the pre-order will commence from 16 April 2021 at 00:01 hours onwards. As usual, the PS5 still costs RM2299.

Ever since the Sony PlayStation 5 launched last year, we read some heartwarming stories of how PS fans been waiting for it. We also read news about how a housewife forced her husband to sell off the PS5, after finding out it wasn't an air purifier. In this latest episode, a Vietnamese player just re-enacted the infamous PlashSpeed scenario by hiring a fake network installer.

Ever since the Sony PlayStation 5 got released, it was sold out within less than a day. Sony Malaysia did the second batch of pre-order from 8 January onwards but we aren't sure how many went to get it due to the pandemic.

The pre-order of PS5 started on 11 November in Malaysia and all of them were sold out in just one day. For those who got to secure one, congratulations! However, for some, the whole pre-order process might not be that smooth. Other than expressing disappointment towards the stocks on social media platforms, some users have also pointed out Gamers Hideout requiring buyers to go through PWP (Purchase with Purchase) to pre-order the PS5. Today, Sony has unofficially made a statement regarding the issue.

While we’re still stuck here waiting for the Sony PlayStation 5 or PS5 to arrive next month (and the pre-order is sold out already), it appears that this may just be a good thing as new Sony PS5 owners have found a fairly disastrous bug. The bug in question reportedly does not let you download games or apps that you’ve already purchased, particularly Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

As Malaysian gamers are getting ready for the Sony PlayStation 5's arrival, they might also have to face the fact that the PS5 games will be more expensive as well. According to a news report, Sony officials have confirmed that the usual $60 (~RM248) price tag will be increased to $70 (~RM289). Not all of the game titles will get it, but it will be inevitable for Triple-A types. 

As Malaysian gamers rejoice, Sony Malaysia and PlayStation Asia have dropped the news of the Sony PlayStation 5 launch date which is 11 December 2020. With just a month to go, the pre-orders for the latest gaming console is now live and the stocks in Shopee were already sold out within minutes past midnight. 

After a long wait, the Sony PlayStation 5 is finally going to arrive in Malaysia next month. Earlier today, Sony has posted up the prices of the consoles together with the other accessories'. All of the products will be ready for pre-order by 12 November (at 12AM later tonight!) and will start to ship from 11 December onwards.
