Telekom Malaysia (TM) has added several services under the unifi brand name in the past few years. Among them would be the unifi fibre broadband, which has a large customer base in urban areas. unifi services have always been separated, but it looks like the company has decided to combine them into one.

Starting 1 April 2020, Malaysian telcos began to provide users with 1GB of data daily. Although that free data could be used for anything at the time, it only applied from 8 AM to 6 PM each day. Now, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has announced that the free 1GB will apply for the entire day.

While many have returned to their offices, there are others who have been told to remain from home. For these people, local telcos have all provided 1GB of mobile data daily so that they can have internet access at home. On TM's side though, unifi Mobile is also going to provide 1GB of 4G LTE data daily.

Based on a statement by malaymail.com, it seems that Telekom Malaysia will reopen their TMpoint outlets located at green zones on 4, 6, and 8 May 2020. As for the operational hours, the outlets will be accepting customers from 10AM until 4PM on the aforementioned dates.

A few days ago, unifi users experienced some slow Internet speed due to the damaged APCN-2 submarine cable system undersea. With this, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) sent out a team to do some maintenance work on 17th until 21st of April. As per schedule, TM is pleased to announce the maintenance work has been completed.

Malaysians have been experiencing slow internet speeds and some technical issues during the movement control order (MCO). Defense Minister Ismail Yaakob said Telco and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are now allowed to do installations and maintenance works at customers’ homes during MCO.

During this MCO, one of the essentials that we largely rely on is the Internet. Without it, most of us would not know how to survive as that is the thing that we depend on to get communications and works done. Now, it is announced that there will be network degradation for a few days for some users, as one of the submarine cable systems will be under maintenance.

As we journey on the Movement Control Order (MCO), we also have to endure the dropped bandwidth speed from our local Telcos and Internet providers due to the number of people staying at home hogging the servers. To address this, Anand Vijayan, Chief Commercial Officer, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) has decided to reach out and gave his statement. 

Today, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) have installed two 5G base stations at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park (MAEPS), Serdang and the Institut Latihan Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia, Sungai Buloh, Selangor. This is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative which will enable the frontliners and medical staff to take advantage of the network speed to run their operations for free.
