By now, most of you should be aware of the burnt phones that happened last week. To refresh your memory, these phones (YES Altitude 3) were provided under the Jaringan Prihatin Program and there were two cases where both models caught fire. Today, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) just posted an announcement that Malaysians would be able to have a free call during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays. In this short announcement, all the local telcos are in agreement that the free calls will start from 10 PM today (12 May 2021) until 10 AM (13 May 2021).

As some of you already know, the Jaringan Prihatin Programme has already begun on 5 May and all the telco brands have already started to launch their own plans for the Rakyat. We have posted some news from YES 4G not too long ago but more telco brands are releasing theirs. With this, we figured that we will just make a compilation of all the Prihatin packages.

Today, YES 4G from YTL Communications announced that they are providing free 40GB of mobile data to the B40. As part of the Kasi Up initiative, it's called the YES KASI UP B40 as long as you're part of the B40 category.

Just last Wednesday, our Prime Minister Muhyiddin officially extended the Movement Control Order (MCO) for everyone's benefit in hopes to minimize the COVID-19 spread. During his second live telecast last Friday, he also mentioned that Malaysians will be receiving their 1GB free Internet data starting from 1 April, but didn't say how. Thankfully, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) released an official statement about this a few hours ago so here's the full breakdown.

OpenSignal recently revealed their latest findings on the state of networks in Malaysia for 2018. Turns out that Maxis are now the best 4G network in Malaysia (based on the results of OpenSignal's survey). About 6 months prior to this there was a similar study conducted by OpenSignal which concluded that in terms of 4G networks, Yes 4G and Maxis were neck and neck, both scoring higher than other networks in Malaysia.
