When it comes to music platforms, Spotify is probably the most popular amongst Malaysians. While there are other music streaming services such as YouTube Music, Joox, Tidal, Deezer and others, the majority of music listeners are satisfied with just average MP3 quality. However, that might change as Apple Music just officially teased something.

Yesterday, it was rumoured that Apple could be launching a new high-fidelity music streaming feature for Apple Music soon. This rumour is likely true, with a reliable source having found references to it in the latest version of the Android app too.

Some good news for the long-awaited next-gen Apple AirPods has finally arrived! According to the latest source, it is said that the pair of true wireless earbuds will be launched on 18 May alongside Apple's new high-fidelity (HiFi) music streaming feature.

It seems that Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently mentioned that Apple might be releasing iPhones equipped with their own in-house designed 5G modem somewhere around 2023. While not much is known in regards to the Malaysia release date of the said phone, it does give us a better idea of what to expect when it is available in the local market.

It seems that a statement from techradar.com hints that a report from Strategy Analytics hints that Apple, OPPO, and vivo holds the top spot for the highest 5G smartphone market share in Q1 2021 at 30.2%, 16.1%, and 14.5% respectively. With that in mind, we can expect 5G capable smartphones to gain popularity as 5G coverage improves with time.

Earlier this week, Apple released new versions of iOS, tvOS, and iPadOS. Version 14.5 bring a few improvements to the table, but the one many are eyeing would be the App Tracking Transparency. Users probably love it, but brands? Not so much.

According to a recent study, only 47% of iPhone users are interested in foldable devices. Mind you, this study is for people in the US and 47% is still a large percentage. But don't be surprised if you don't see any iPhone Flip or iPad Fold anytime soon.

Based on a report by asia.nikkei.com, it seems that Apple has started production for the Apple M2 chip, which will be embedded in MacBooks that will be released in H2 2021. While not much is known in regards to the performance the new chip will have, it does give us a better idea of what to expect when the MacBooks are unveiled.
