CelcomDigi has announced a new lineup of prepaid mobile Internet passes aimed at users who want always-on connectivity with full access to 5G speeds. The new Prepaid 5G Hyper and Power passes are targeted at Gen Now users who stream, game, scroll, and work on the go in Malaysia.

As the year-end travel season approaches, Maxis is enhancing its roaming offerings by bundling Maxis Travel Care. It is a complimentary travel insurance plan, with selected Maxis Roaming Passes and added protection complementing Maxis’s unlimited 5G and 4G roaming data.

In 2022, Celcom and Digi began talks to merge the two companies, that would eventually become CelcomDigi. Hoping to utilize the best of both telcos, initial signs indicated that there was some improvement but lately, quite a few CelcomDigi users from our Facebook page have said that it has become worse since their merger. On paper, pulling all the resources from both sides should make the mobile internet experience better but it became the opposite instead. 

Recently, our Minister of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) Tan Sri Annuar Musa just did a media interview regarding improving our mobile network. He is urging local telcos to reinvest and upgrade their coverage and telecommunications services to improve their quality.

As our economic sector is slowly reopening, Opensignal is back once again with another report on Malaysians' mobile data experience. The last report was done in April 2021 just before the lockdown, so in this latest news - the data gathered was between 1 June until 29 August 2021 based on Celcom, Digi, Maxis, U Mobile and Unifi.
