The Samsung Galaxy Fold will be Samsung’s first foldable 5G smartphone which may be set to be unveiled on the 21st of February. It is speculated to have a hefty price tag of USD$1700 (~RM6983) and may be powered by the Exynos 5100 modem.

There were rumours going around of Samsung working on the Galaxy X, a foldable smartphone that was supposed to be the first of its kind, releasing end of 2018. Unfortunately for Samsung, they were not the first. Rouyou (Royale) Technologies from China claimed the title of the first company to release the world's first foldable smartphone called the FlexPai. Unveiled yesterday, the phone has some pretty cool tech specs like Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon 800 series.

Based on a statement made by Ice Universe on his Twitter account. Samsung could unveil the Samsung Galaxy X which will come equipped with a foldable display at CES 2019 and the Samsung Galaxy S10 which will be unveiled during MWC2019. Based on reports, the Samsung Galaxy X’s screen is sized at 4.5-inches when folded to 7.3-inches when unfolded. Not only that, we’ve also covered previously that Samsung is also manufacturing a foldable battery which has the capacity of between 3000mAh to 6000mAh.

So it looks like the Samsung rumour mill is starting to pick up some steam. This is not even about the upcoming Galaxy Note 9 next month, but rather the Galaxy S10 and the much anticipated foldable smartphone Galaxy X. Apparently, after years of teasing the Samsung YOUM flexible display, a Samsung patent for one such device has been made. Dug up by LetsGoDigital, the patent describes a flexible and foldable colour screen that rolls up into either a cylinder or rectangular case that may have a fingerprint sensor, controller and power source.
