It hasn't really been all that long ago since Xiaomi launch its first smartwatch, the Mi Watch, in Malaysia last year. But news of a new Xiaomi smartwatch is already making the rounds and this one was found through a listing on the Bureau for Indian Standards (BIS).

Qualcomm has not given up on developing 4G chipsets yet, as the company has announced three new chipsets today and they are all non-5G compatible. Although 5G is making its way to our lives, it is still not that fast to be fully available in every corner of the world at the moment. Therefore, 4G smartphones will still continue hitting the market until its time has come to an end.

We all know by now that patents don't necessarily result in finished products. However, it's still cool to see what brands and companies are cooking up in the background. Recently, a new patent filing by Xiaomi was approved by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and it contains designs for a smartphone with a pop-up system with multiple cameras.

Since its release back in 2010, Xiaomi’s MIUI has been one of the reliable operating systems offered in the market until now. The MIUI is also deemed as fast when it comes to adopting the latest features from Android into its system. Recently, Xiaomi unveiled they are in the process of developing MIUI 12, and it will be released in Q3 2020 to celebrate its 10 year anniversary.

A few months month, Xiaomi, OPPO and vivo signed an agreement to join forces to develop a new Wireless File Transfer System which is due to be unveiled this year. With that in mind, vivo recently announced that the new system is expected to be unveiled somewhere around February of 2020.

Recently, a patent by realme called SUPERDART which is a fast-charging technology was posted up on Twitter by Mukul Sharma. While not much is known in regards to the aforementioned technology, gsmarena hinted that this could be a direct response to Xiaomi’s 100W charging technology.

Wireless is the staple for most of the tech gadgets nowadays, because there are some people don't like their newly-bought gadgets to be tangled with all kinds of cables. Recently, two Xiaomi wireless audio products were certified by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) to bring more wireless action to their consumers.

Based on a report by Canalys, Xiaomi is currently ranked number one in terms of sales in wearable bands. The wearable band market, on the other hand, saw an increase of up to 65% in Q3 of 2019 with the APAC as well as China seeing the largest growth.

Clamshell phones haven't been popular in a long time but the design seems to be making a comeback of sorts. It was just last month when the new Motorola RAZR with a foldable display was launched in Malaysia. Now, a new patent granted to Xiaomi could mean that another one is in the works.

Earlier today, we saw Qualcomm announcing its latest Snapdragon 865 and 765 chipsets. At the same time, many brands have confirmed that they will be offering smartphones equipped with the new chipsets. Looks like 2020 will be a year filled with Qualcomm 5G-powered phones.
