First front Dual Pixel camera sensor confirmed!
In an effort to cater to the selfie lovers, ASUS made two ZenFone 4 Selfies models. As you can see, these two models are very similar in many ways but there is one major difference which lies in the front camera. The so-called 24MP DuoPixel camera technology on the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro is not really a 24MP camera sensor per say, but rather it's disguised as a 12MP Dual Pixel Sensor that is able to produce a 24MP pixel resolution image (yep, we called it, another world's first!). How it works is that the image sensor captures twice the number of light photodiodes per microlens, then the system inside intelligently detects the information to increase photo resolution.
ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro (bottom) and ZenFone 4 Selfie (top)
We think ASUS did this on purpose probably because fitting in an actual 24MP camera sensor might actually be too big for the front, or even add a huge camera bump. So with this, the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro solely relies on the main camera for selfie, while the secondary camera just focuses on the wide-angle aspect (this applies to the ZenFone 4 Selfie as well).
SelfieMaster
Moving on, selfie lovers should also enjoy the awesome selfie features such as the 4K selfie video in 3840 x 2160 resolution, Portrait mode, Beauty Mode, and the SelfieMaster Technology that allows the user access to Photo and Video Beautification, BeautyLive (live stream beautification), allowing users to make a collage or slideshows of themselves.
On the other hand, the ZenFone 4 Max Pro's battery capacity is as monstrous as ever. According to ASUS, the battery is able to go on up to 46 days standby, 40 hours 3G talk time, 22 hours video playback and 26 hours WiFi web browsing. As you can see above, the battery has been installed with various protections to avoid any explosive malfunctions.
However, there is a new feature on the device which is called the PowerMaster. It can change battery modes, offers battery saving options and acts as an autostart manager. The new ZenFone 4 Max Pro, ZenFone 4 Selfie and ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro will also be getting a more streamlined ASUS ZenUI 4.0 upgradable to Android O, but the bigger surprise is that the ASUS ZenFone 3 series will also be getting the ASUS ZenUI 4.0 and Android O as well.
We will be updating the ZenFone 4 and 4 Pro soon so stay tuned for more ASUS news at TechNave.com.
