Are Redmi, Realme and Samsung announcing 64MP cameras on their upcoming smartphones?

Awhile back, Realme had teased a photo taken from their 64MP sensor and it was pretty impressive. Not too long after that, Redmi followed suit, showing off a photo of a cat taken with the world’s first 64MP smartphone camera. Samsung had also apparently hopped onto the bandwagon, with rumours mentioning that the Samsung Galaxy A70s may be equipped with the sensor. Now, the question is: Which company would be releasing their device first?

One thing to note is that all 3 companies will be using Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 64MP camera sensor which was announced a while back. Realme had tweeted that they will be showcasing their 64MP quad camera smartphone during the Camera Innovation Event on the 8th of August in New Delhi.

On the other hand, Xiaomi had posted a poster for their Future Image Technology Communication Conference on the 7th of August which may most likely going to showcase both Xiaomi and Redmi’s 64MP smartphone cameras. However, it is likely that Redmi would be releasing their 64MP camera smartphone before Xiaomi. The camera has been confirmed to take pictures of up to 20MB in size which has been said to be able to capture impeccable detail with the quad camera setup. Redmi’s upcoming gaming smartphone maybe featuring Mediatek’s brand new Helio G90T chipset which is more than capable to handle the sensor so it is likely that we might be seeing the sensor on the gaming device.

As for Samsung, we can expect to see the 64MP sensor not on its next flagship but on their mid-range device, possibly to test the waters before they go all in with the sensor. The Samsung Galaxy A70s is the device of choice to equip the sensor on and we may be seeing this phone out somewhere between September and October of this year.

Guess the new flagships won’t be seeing this new sensor - at least not anytime soon. It isn’t surprising, though - the midrange smartphone market is booming, so it makes sense to see this sensor on them. Do you agree? Keep up with the latest smartphone updates on TechNave.com!
