Fingerprints "might temporarily alter the colour" of the titanium frame on the iPhone 15 Pro variants

Yup, you read that right. Your fingerprints "might temporarily alter the colour of the outside band" on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. To be more specific, it's more like the oil from your skin but besides, there are also other elements that can cause damage.

According to Apple's support document, the colour alteration is not a permanent thing so we are glad to hear that. As long as you wipe off your fingerprints, the titanium frame condition should be just fine. On the other hand, slapping on a protective casing should do the trick as well.

However, if you like to live dangerously without a phone case on your iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, and making contact with dirt or sand, ink, makeup, soap, detergent, acids or acidic foods, or lotions, Apple has provided some guidelines.

The document recommends turning off your iPhone, then using a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth (like a lens cloth) and start wiping. You should also avoid getting moisture in the openings as well as not using any cleaning products or compressed air. These abrasive materials and cleaning products can diminish the coating on the titanium frames.

Lastly, Apple said your iPhone already has fingerprint-resistant oleophobic — oil repellent — coating, so it shouldn't be too bad. Just make sure you clean the frames regularly or use a protector case.
