Apple just can't really catch a break. The iPhone 15 series has a rough start with problems with overheating issues on the pro variants, the incompatibility with BMW's wireless charging and now, a few users are reporting crackling sounds from the built-in speakers.
The sound issue seems to be random and impacting a small number of users. There's no indication on which model is affected, but a Redditor said that his iPhone 15 Pro Max already has this issue when the volume is above 80%. A full volume will make the "speaker calls rattle the speaker and sound like liquid inside", as well as a "crackle in specific videos or certain frequency ranges".

On the other hand, reports of this can also be found on TikTok. Again on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the user has replaced his iPhone twice (for free) because of the crackling sound. Anyway, other iPhone 15 users on the Reddit forum are asking for new replacements but even those have the same issues.
At the moment, the main culprit seems to be the earpiece speaker but there's still no source of the problem. So nobody knows if it's a hardware or software malfunction, or something related to the Titanium frames. Apple has not commented on this and it may take a few days for the team to figure out a solution.
