Galaxy Unpacked 2025 - Book-style, clamshell, tri-fold foldables and more?

The upcoming Galaxy Unpacked next week has Samsung fans excited. In the last few weeks, Samsung has been sharing teasers of this year's Galaxy Z series foldables, such as an allegedly thinner Galaxy Z Fold 7. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will also make its debut, along with a new Fan Edition variant.

Of course, those aren't the only products that will appear at the event. It's also likely that Samsung will have more to show during the July Galaxy Unpacked. But what else can we expect to see this year? Below is a list of expected devices.

Galaxy Z Fold 7

The July Unpacked has always featured foldable devices, so the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will definitely make its debut. Samsung has even released a teaser revealing an ultra-slim body, similar to the slim Galaxy S25 Edge. This could mean it's using a silicon-carbon, which allows the phone to be thinner without compromising its battery capacity. Another report says the thin body will result in a thicker camera bump. In addition, a recent leak revealed three colourways - dark grey, silver, and dark blue.

Galaxy Z Flip 7

This year's second Galaxy Unpacked will also feature the Galaxy Z Flip 7. While its design is similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 6, some renders show noticeably thinner bezels around the cover screen. The renders also reveal a new rose gold colour, which should appeal to the ladies. In addition, there's a rumour claiming that the phone would only come with the Exynos 2500 chipset.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE

Samsung could also have something for folks who want a more affordable foldable device this year. Leaked renders reveal a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE with a striking resemblance to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Nothing has been confirmed, but it could be a variant of the Z Flip 6 with cheaper build materials (i.e. plastic body) and components (downgraded cameras) for lower manufacturing costs.

Galaxy "G-Fold"

In February, it was reported that Samsung could release a foldable with a new form factor this year. Specifically, it's allegedly a new tri-fold smartphone named the "Galaxy G Fold". Based on the Flex G prototype revealed at CES 2022, the tri-fold device will have three 'segments' connected by two hinges. Mind you, there are still no teasers or confirmation on this device so far, so don't feel disappointed if it doesn't appear at the event.

Galaxy Buds Core

A product that's not actually new, but hasn't been released globally, is the Samsung Galaxy Buds Core wireless earbuds. This was launched in selected markets last week for approximately RM218, meaning it's an entry-level audio device. Despite that, it features active noise cancelling (ANC), Galaxy AI support, and a solid 35-hour battery life. The design is similar to the Galaxy Buds FE launched in 2023, so it can be seen as a successor to that model.

Galaxy Watch 8 series

Finally, new smartwatches are expected to launch at next week's Unpacked. Specifically, the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. According to leaks, Samsung wants to apply the Galaxy Watch Ultra's squircle design (square body with circular screen) to the entire Galaxy Watch 8 series. This may have the unfortunate effect of making the Ultra model less unique. We'll have to wait for the official launch to find out what differentiates the three models.

A lot to unpack

Next week's Galaxy Unpacked will definitely give us plenty to unpack. Some of the devices listed above are guaranteed to show up, but we're not sure about all of them (such as the G Fold). Regardless, it'll be exciting to see what Samsung has to show.
