The rumours of the iPhone 15 series having a USB C port are getting stronger. In this latest news, a leaker posted a few details of what we can expect about Apple's own USB C cable. This includes the cables that won't have MFi (made for iPhone) restrictions as previously feared.

According to Majin Bu (yes, that's his username), he claimed that the iPhone 15 series USB C cable could be 1.6 metres long, thicker and more resistant. Compared with the current USB C to Lightning cable for the iPhone 14 series, the latter measures 1 metre long.

On top of that, the USB version could be 2.0 with 20V 3A. The transfer speed is 480Mbps which is the same as a Lightning cable but it's speculated that the iPhone 15 pro variants may support faster transfer speeds. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the pro variants may use a USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3.

Lastly, the aforementioned "No MFi" was the first time we heard about the iPhone 15 series. There were rumours and guesses that Apple would limit third-party accessories, such as not allowing users to use another USB C cable and forcing them to buy its own. Well, we hope that Majin Bu's findings are true because that would suck if Apple does so.

September is just around the corner and we won't need to wait that long for the iPhone 15 series announcement by Apple. Until then, do take this news with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
