With the commencement and trials of 5G around the globe, Samsung’s news couldn’t have been timed better. The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is due to hit shelves on the 5th of April in South Korea with no pre-order program.
The device is speculated to be priced at 1.5 million won (~RM5382) and has only passed signal verification tests at the National Research Agency in South Korea earlier this week. Globally, the device may be sold through various network carriers. In the USA, the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G will be carried by Verizon who will be launching their 5G network on the 11th of April. For the UK, O2 will be distributing the device to London, Edinburg and Cardiff later in 2019.
As for Malaysia, we are expecting to see trials for 5G in Putrajaya and Cyberjaya starting next month with Maxis and even Celcom hopping on the bandwagon. While we will be seeing the first few glimmers of 5G here in the country, we may not be seeing the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G so soon so don’t expect a Malaysia release date or Malaysia price any time soon. If you happen to live under a rock somewhere and haven't heard about 5G, here's where you can find out more about it!
