Snapdragon 888-powered Black Shark Emperor allegedly launching soon

The official reveal of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset has set off a flood of announcements from various smartphone brands. Honor, OPPO, and Xiaomi have already confirmed that new phones with the chipset on the way, but gamers would probably be more interested in what Black Shark is planning.

According to Digital Chat Station (via Gizchina), Black Shark already has a new gaming smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset ready for launch. He claimed that the phone bears the codename 'Emperor' and will not only have a great design but also support advance fast-charging. For reference, the Black Shark 3 series supports 65W fast-charging and was a sleek phone that was relatively affordable for a phone with a gaming look.

Besides that, the leaker also claimed that Xiaomi will launch a Redmi device featuring the Snapdragon 888 chipset much earlier next year. In case you didn't know, the K30 Pro and K30 Zoom were first revealed on 24 March this year. So, a Redmi K40 Pro and K40 Zoom could launch as early as January or February 2021. This makes sense, as Xiaomi won't want to fall behind too far from Samsung's Galaxy S21 series, which was rumoured to be coming in January 2021.
