Now this is a rumour we really want to be true as leaked images and documents for an ASUS PadFone attached to a keyboard dock seem to indicate that we may soon get keyboard functionality with the next ASUS PadFone. The ASUS PadFone combines a smartphone with a tablet and initially came out with a keyboard dock, but this feature was not included in recent PadFone devices. Tech specs for the ASUS Mobile Dock Keyboard include a 450 mAh battery pack, bluetooth connectivity, a built-in trackpad and a full QWERTY keyboard with what appear to be island-style keys. Unfortunately, the dock does not offer any extended battery features or an extra SD card, but these features could come in future versions of the ASUS Mobile Dock Keyboard. No news how much it would cost or any specific Malaysia release dates, but we assume you'll see it with the next ASUS PadFone release. While the returning keyboard dock is great news, we'd be even more thrilled if ASUS would just go and make keyboard docks for all of their tablet range including the ASUS FonePad and MeMo Pad tablets.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 mini or the slightly smaller version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 has popped up on Zauba. For those who don't know, Zauba is a registry listing tracking imports and exports to and from India, rather like our own SIRIM database. The listing in question shows the SM-G800F which popped up as the Samsung Galaxy Mini recently. The listing shows that the screen size will be 4.47-inches resulting in a 4.5-inch display. Other leaked tech specs indicate that the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini will also pack in a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB storage, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and come with IP67 water and dust resistance along with a 2000 mAh battery and Android 4.4. No news yet on Malaysia pricing or release dates but the listing does indicate a value of 21493 INR (RM1160) for each unit.

It isn't a secret that flexible paper thin screens exist, but the reality is that devices with such screens could be coming sooner than you think. Researchers at the Human Media Lab of Queen's University, Canada have proven this with the PaperFold device which is paper-thin, foldable, flexible, can be detached and reattached to other electrophoretic displays or touchscreens and function as a smartphone, tablet and notebook. While the displays on the screens are still black and white and not very high in resolution, they show off remarkable functionality. Check out the video in this article for a glimpse of the future.

The User Agent profile for an entry level Samsung smartphone with the model number of SM-G110B has recently appeared on Samsung's website listing all of the tech specs. While most of the available tech specs and features are not that impressive such as an ARM Cortex-A7 processor and a display with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution, the smartphone is notable because it is the first entry-level smartphone we've seen to come packing Android 4.4.2 right out of the box. This confirms earlier news that Google may require that all new devices only come out with the latest version of Android. No news yet on what the Samsung SM-G110B could be called but it sounds fairly similar to the model numbering of the Samsung Galaxy Pocket. The latest in that series would be the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo which sported a 3-inch display and was priced at $80 (RM260). No specific Malaysia release dates or pricing was mentioned but we expect this possible Samsung Galaxy Pocket to come around the same RM260 price and be announced soon.

Reporting previously on the OnePlus One smartphone, we mentioned that the company was offering the smartphone for just $1 (RM3.26) for those willing to smash their smartphones. While there were quite a few submissions for the OnePlus One "Smash the Past" contest, many of these people didn't read the fine print in that from those who submitted their names, only 100 contestants would be picked and only then they'd be required to upload said videos. Suffice to say, there have been quite a few uploaded videos of smashed smartphones. Considering the injuries that you can get from doing so (flying glass, exploding battery, etc.) OnePlus have since changed their contest where contestants who have been picked will have to donate their smartphones to Medic Mobile which sends these phones to mobile healthcare workers in rural areas. Of the 140000 entries, 100 winners will be contacted to donate their phones so do keep your phone well and safe before that happens.

There was a time way back when kinetic or self-winding watches were a big trend as they basically allowed your body's movements to power your watch. Those who moved a lot, practically never had to replace their watch batteries. Working off of this concept with a miniturized power generater, the iMove Charger charges itself from the movements of your body. The iMove charger should be quite portable and measures in at just 6.35mm thin. The developers currently have the iMove Charger for crowd-funding on Indiegogo at just $50 (RM163) for the lowest device pledge while they hope to sell the device for retail at $80 (RM260). However, the project has only managed to raise $3956 of their $25000 funding goal, and there are just 8 days left (ending on 12 May 2014) as of the time of writing this article.

While the Huawei Ascend P7 mini has already been launched, the Huawei Ascend P7 is still waiting in the wings. We expect it to make an appearance soon though (this week in fact) but serial leaker @evleaks has put up nice closeup shot of this latest flagship smartphone from Huawei. The chrome detailing and styling certainly looks good and the smartphone is very thin at just 6.18mm. Other tech specs are all but confirmed with 2GB of RAM and a 2460 mAh battery. The chassis looks to be mostly metal which should excite those who like those sort of premium all-metal body smartphones. Still no news on pricing or Malaysia release dates but with Huawei Malaysia already in the country we should get the Huawei Ascend P7 here in Malaysia soon.

With the official announcement of the HTC One (M8) already done with, rumours are moving on to the mini version with many saying that the smaller version will be named the HTC One mini 2. Serial leaker @evleaks has chimed in with some renders of the HTC one mini 2 in gold, grey and silver along with the apparent lack of a Duo camera (the dual-camera in the HTC One M8). Other tech specs and features for the HTC One mini 2 include a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, 4.5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, 13MP rear camera, Android 4.4 KitKat and Sense 6.0. No specific news on Malaysia release dates or pricing but we expect this one soon, or at least around or after May 2014.

Another flagship smartphone, another gold-plated or rare metal version from Goldgenie. This time around, the luxury company is offering the HTC One (M8) for a choice of either 24K gold, platinum or rose gold complete with the usual premium looking Cherry Oak box. The 24K plating HTC One (M8) comes in at $2560.95 (RM8363). Quite obviously, there isn't any Malaysia release date or local pricing for any of these versions, but if you have the money to get one of these precious metal plated HTC One (M8) smartphones then you certainly shouldn't have to worry about shipping one of these ultra luxury items. Tech specs and features for any of these versions should not differ from the original but you should expect them to be a lot heavier.
