Hands-on photos of the upcoming Sony Xperia XZ1, successor to the Xperia XZ and Xperia XZ Premium have appeared. Coming courtesy of sonyxperiaailesi, the supposed Xperia XZ1 even has a plastic covering denoting the model name so it seems fairly accurate (but still, do take this with a pinch of salt). The overall Xperia XZ1 design looks identical to the curved side Xperia XZ series though with same side curves and metal frame.

As the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 big unpack is coming in just the next few days, the usual early leaks have popped up, this time with a sales brochure from ausdroid. This apparently confirms that the Galaxy Note 8 will have a dual rear camera with one of them offering telephoto 2x optical zoom, OIS or Optical Image Stabilization and an f/1.7 aperture. Other tech specs like a 6.3-inch QHD+ resolution Infinity Display, S Pen, Iris Scanner, wireless charging and IP68 water and dust resistance are more or less to be expected after the Galaxy S8. The brochure also shows that you can still write on the Note 8 while it is on standby. Today, ASUS is proud to present five brand new ASUS ZenFone 4 series in Taipei, Taiwan. The five devices are the ASUS ZenFone 4 (ZE554KL), ZenFone 4 Pro (ZS551KL), ZenFone 4 Max Pro (ZC554KL), ZenFone 4 Selfie (ZD553KL), and the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro (ZD552KL). Let's first go through the ZenFone 4 and 4 Pro as both smartphones will be the last two to come into Malaysia. No Malaysia pricing details like the others but the ZenFone 4 will be priced at $399 (~RM1712) while the ZenFone 4 Pro will go for $599 (~RM2570). Below is the full official specifications and details on the dual camera module.

Aside from the ASUS ZenFone 4 and ZenFone 4 Pro, ASUS also introduced the new ZenFone 4 Max Pro, ZenFone 4 Selfie and Selfie Pro. Fans of huge battery and selfie devices should be happy to know that these three devices are coming into Malaysia with a price tag of RM1099, RM1299 and RM1799 respectively on 25 August 2017. The pre-order for the three devices will start between 17 August 2017 to 24 August 2017 and customers who pre-order either one of the devices in that period will get an ASUS ZenPower 10050 mAh powerbank and more awesome goodies from ASUS Malaysia (while stocks last). You can pre-order at Lazada, Shopee and 11street.

U Mobile has teamed up with the MinesKi Events Team and Logitech G to launch the Malaysia Esports League or MESL as the biggest Dota 2 League in Malaysia with an RM500000 prize pool split to the champion and top 16 teams. If the winning gamers are U Mobile users then they could win an additional up to RM50000 cash prize with U Mobile's 'For The Win' campaign, which could go to the 2nd or 3rd place teams if they aren't. HMD Global have officially announced their much rumoured Nokia 8 flagship smartphone for a price tag of about 599 euros (~RM3030). Featuring a metal unibody chassis made from a single block of 6000 aluminum, the Nokia 8 packs in flagship features like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage, USB Type-C, NFC, fingerprint sensor and a 5.3-inch LCD display with 2K or 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and Gorilla Glass 5. On the back there are dual 13MP rear cameras (RGB + monochrome) with ZEISS lens, Optical Image Stabilization or OIS and Phase detection autofocus or PDAF. Another 13MP PDAF camera with ZEISS lens is on the front while a 3090 mAh battery with quick charging and Android 7.1.1 Nougat keeps the Nokia 8 powered.

The upcoming Huawei Mate 10 will apparently be skipping IFA 2017 (which is due in September 2017) as a leaked teaser invite from techprolonged seems to indicate that we'll "Meet the device worth waiting for" on 16 October 2017 in Munich, Germany. The teaser doesn't reveal anything else except a big 10 in the background, but the Mate 10 has been rumoured to have a 6.1-inch bezel-less display called Entire-View that features a 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio.

Celcom announced new video-centric additions to their FIRST postpaid plans with their FIRST Gold Supreme and FIRST Platinum Plus postpaid plans. In addition, the current FIRST Platinum, FIRST Gold and FIRST Gold Plus postpaid plans have been revised while all FIRST plans get unlimited calls, WhatsApp, WeChat and music streaming via Yonder Music. Celcom have also included Merdeka promotions and Celcom EasyPhone to make it easier for users to own their own smartpone.

Tech Specs for what appear to be the ASUS ZenFone 4 Pro have leaked on GFXBench via Phonearena showing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage and a 5.5-inch FHD display. There also appears to be a 12MP rear camera which we hope would be a dual pixel sensor and an 8MP front camera which is strange since the ZenFone 3 Zoom comes with a 13MP front camera.

In contrast to some other EISA 2017-2018 award winners, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus both won the Best Smartphone EISA 2017-2018 award together for their do-it-all capabilities. While there is mention of the bezel-less Infinity Display, iris scanner and new Bixby voice assistant, there isn't any single feature that has been particularly highlighted or focused on, except perhaps that the 12MP rear camera more or less remains the same (yes, they have a better camera algorithm technology, but it is basically the same hardware). Regardless, these "formidable do-it-all" devices were also affected by the recent price drop and are available from RM2595 (Galaxy S8, RRP: RM3299) and RM2899 (Galaxy S8 Plus, RRP: RM3699).
