The ultimate feature-filled smartphone, the Saygus V2 (V-Squared) has just been released for pre-order. Featuring tech specs that include a 21MP rear camera with dual LED flash and 13MP front camera with both cameras packing Optical Image Stabilization we expected it to be quite pricey. Instead, it is currently available for just $549 ($1992). The pre-order time frame starts from 11:59pm (MST) to the evening of 2 February 2015. Even after the pre-order period, the Saygus V2 is expected to cost just $599 (RM2174) which is still very attractive. We're not sure if they'll ship here but there are definitely no Malaysia release dates or pricing details. For those interested parties, the full tech specs include a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB RAM, 64GB storage, 2x 128GB microSDXC slots and 5-inch full HD 1080p Sunlight Viewable display with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It also has a 21MP rear camera with dual LED flash and 13MP front camera and both cameras pack Optical Image Stabilization. There is also a dedicated camera shutter button. Features include a fingerprint side scanner, NFC, WiFi 802.11ac, Harmon Kardon Stereo speakers with 3 noise cancelling microphones, an IR blaster, 4G LTE support, Qi wireless charging and IPx7 Water proofing.

CES 2015 is past and gone and while all the big brands have made their announcements and big showcases, there were actually quite a few smaller companies that caught our eye. True, some of them like the Polaroid Selfie camera are just copycats but they certainly offer a different angle on things. While we still don't support blatant copy-paste manufacturers some other devices from these smaller manufacturers caught our eye. They include the Saygus V2 which is a tech spec monster smartphone, the Hyperdon Smart Watch which is a $27 (RM95) Apple Watch clone and the Jide Remix Ultra-Tablet which is an Android powered Surface 3 tablet look-a-like. Check out their details in this article.

Looking to follow in the footsteps of other incremental smartphone upgrades, Huawei have since released the Huawei Ascend P6S which is a version of the Huawei Ascend P6 smartphone that uses Huawei's new and improved quad-core K3V2+ processor. The new processor features ARM Cortex A9 cores along with a faster Mali-450 GPU. The Huawei Ascend P6S managed to a get an AnTuTu score of 22270 which is quite impressive but nowhere near what the top Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 smartphones can achieve. While the processor is said to be running at 1.6GHz, Huawei have said that the new H3V2+ processor should help decrease energy consumption down to 50% while delivering 50% to 80% better performance. No news on Malaysia release dates or pricing just yet though.
