Today, CelcomDigi announced its new lineup of CelcomDigi Prepaid 5G plans. Like the CelcomDigi Postpaid plans, the new prepaid plans have both 5G and 4G connectivity and will launch on 1 March 2024. 

To enhance mobile connectivity further in Malaysia, CelcomDigi Berhad and U Mobile Sdn Bhd have announced a partnership agreement. With this initiative, both telcos will be sharing a total of 100 Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) sites across Malaysia, with each party committing to 50 sites each.

In 2022, Celcom and Digi began talks to merge the two companies, that would eventually become CelcomDigi. After several delays, the Share Subscription Agreement (SSA) to hold equities in Digital National Berhad (DNB) has finally been signed by the 5 Malaysian mobile network operators (MNOs). As reported by Bernama, the SSA was signed today.
