BigPay has announced some changes to the fees for some of its services that would affect Malaysian users. Going into effect this 30 August, the changes include an additional 0.5% fee for overseas spending and up to a 3% fee for credit card top-ups.

BigPay today announced a new feature called ‘Stashes’, a virtual account that allows users to organise and save money that is separate from their BigPay spending wallet. Moreover, through its ‘Round-up’ feature, users can also opt to round up their transactions to the nearest Ringgit to be automatically put into the Stash.

The digital wallet app AirAsia Pocket, owned by AirAsia, now only allows top-ups using the BigPay cards. Besides that, it has also removed the feature of transferring money to other users and only focuses on top-up and payment features now. It's unsure why the change, but it definitely has set some limitations for the usage.

BigPay users can now send money to recipients with no bank accounts in Indonesia and the Philippines
Jun 21, 2022BigPay today announced the launch of cash pickup services in Indonesia and the Philippines, a new addition to its existing remittance services. Called ‘Cash Pickup’, this new feature allows BigPay users in Malaysia and Singapore to send money to recipients in the aforementioned countries even if the recipients don’t have any bank accounts.

The Finance Ministry (MOF) in a statement yesterday announced that around 2 million Malaysian youths will receive an RM150 e-wallet credit starting this mid-April. Part of the government’s ePemula scheme, those that are eligible include youths aged 18 to 20 as well as full-time students in higher learning institutions.
Furthermore, those eligible would get to enjoy the benefit through one of four e-wallet providers, which are BigPay, GrabPay, ShopeePay and Touch ’n Go. MOF said that the four e-wallet service providers have a network of 1.2 million retailers in Malaysia.
