If you know Xiaomi, then you should also know that they're quite popular for selling affordable and economical smartphones over the years. And even though that's the case, their smartphone devices are not to be underestimated as they perform quite well too. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is no exception, and for 2GB RAM + 16 storage at only RM749, while the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage (this is the one we're reviewing) priced at RM849, the Redmi Note 3 could be the affordable king of the year. The Redmi Note 3 is also the first Xiaomi device to go full metal and features their first fingerprint sensor, but how did the smartphone perform? Read below to find out.

While it was announced last year in 2015, it looks like ASUS are confirming that a number of devices will be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update by Q2 of 2016. New additions since previously include the ZenFone Zoom and Max but it also appears that certain ASUS ZenUI apps like ASUS Messenger, ASUS Mail and ASUS Calender will be replaced by their Google apps as the default apps. You can redownload these apps and install them with a factory reset after the update though.

The ASUS ZenFone Selfie and ZenFone 2 Laser both utilize a protective layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and in a recent promo video are apparently sushi-proof. The video shows Thai sushi chefs using the ZenFone 2 Laser display as a chopping board. Rounding up the surprise announcemencts with the ASUS ZenFone Selfie launch was the announcement of the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser for just RM799. Looking to replace the 5-inch display ASUS ZenFone 2 smartphones, the ZenFone 2 Laser ZE550KL features a 13MP PixelMaster rear camera with laser autofocus and dual-LED real tone flash along with a 5MP front camera making it very high value cameraphone. The 5.5-inch display looks to have a 720p resolution but still has a protective layer of the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Tech specs and features include a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 4G LTE Dual SIM Dual Standby. It should be available in the coming weeks but our hands-on with the device shows a smartphone very much like the ASUS ZenFone 2 with the only major physical difference being the laser sensor on the right side of the rear camera. This value cameraphone is expected in the coming weeks along with the rest of the newly announced ASUS ZenFones
