Apple recently made several announcements at this year's WWDC 2014 and one of the biggest was that of iOS 8, the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system. Powering your Apple iPhones and iPads, iOS 8 brings a number of innovations to the fore including an improved Health hub app, a more useful Siri, notifications that you can take action on and widgets. Other notable features include the addition of a new predictive and learning QuickType keyboard along with support for third-party keyboards so you can eventually download SwiftKey or other onscreen keyboards if you don't like the new QuickType. Other new features of note include Family Sharing where you can share media with family, better integration with iCloud Drive for more storage on the Internet and Spotlight which works like a combination of the search on Windows 8 and Google Now. Improved Maps and other features round off the new additions.

Apple iPad Air (iPad 5) officially announced, most tech specs and rumours confirmed

Apple recently announced the latest version of their Apple iPad tablet. Not very keen on numbering this 5th generation tablet either, Apple have called it the iPad Air mainly because it is much thinner an lighter than previous versions. While it has the same 9.7-inch Retina Display, the iPad Air has slimmer bezels and a thinner overall look, confirming earlier rumours and leaks that it would look more like the iPad Mini. While it doesn't have any Touch ID fingerprint scanner it does pack in the new 64-bit Apple A7 processor and chipset with M7 coprocessor making it as powerful as the Apple iPhone 5S. Apple iPad 2 Review

Apple iPad 2 has been revealed by Steve Jobs at 10am PST, March 2, 2011. According to Malaysia’s largest Apple retailers — Machines — the iPad 2 will be available in Malaysia on 29-April-2011.

    Design

In term of design, the new iPad 2 looks very similar to iPad 1. Still using the same aluminum body but much thinner and lighter. iPad 2 is 33% thinner and up to 15% lighter, only 0.34″ thick and weight 1.33 pounds (601 gram).

  • BlackBerry PlayBook Review

    BlackBerry PlayBook Review

The BlackBerry PlayBook isn't just the third major tablet platform to launch, or the first one to deeply poke at figuring out why 7-inch tablets should exist—it's literally the future of BlackBerry, since the QNX-based OS is going to be the gooey software heart of BlackBerry phones in the next year or so. This is not a bad thing.

BlackBerry Playbook - Design & Build:

The BlackBerry PlayBook feels good in your hands, thanks to a soft-touch backside. RIM’s slate is a hair thinner than the original Samsung Galaxy Tab but is an ounce and a half heavier (14.9 vs 13.4 ounces). Still, you can easily slip the PlayBook in a purse or jacket pocket, something you can’t do with the iPad 2.

  • Acer Iconia Tab A500 Review

    Acer Iconia Tab A500 Review

The new Acer Iconia Tab A500 is one a slew of Android devices aiming to find its niche in a world currently dominated by the Apple iPad 2. What sets the Iconia Tab apart from its competition is primarily its price - cheaper than the iPad 2. That makes it an option for those looking for an Android tablet on a budget, but not enough of a break to sway many people away from the iPad 2.

Acer Iconia Tab - Design & Build:

The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is a very nice looking device, with a brushed aluminum back that wraps around onto the front panel. But the Iconia Tab also has the unfortunate distinction of being the heaviest Android table on the market at 1.69 pounds. While the Iconia Tab is only .05 pounds heavier than the Motorola Zoom, it is a full 5oz heftier then the LG G-Slate and nearly 6oz heavier than the iPad 2.

  • Apple iPad Mini Review - More than just a Mini

Apple iPad Mini Review - More than just a Mini

Usually when a tech device like a smartphone or a tablet is called a Mini, it means that it is a cut down or lower-end version of the main device that it takes it's name from. However, they couldn't be further from the truth as this little 7.9-inch tablet packs in a whole bunch of features within a just as excellently designed casing as the original Apple iPad. If you liked the cellular version of the Apple iPad then you also may like the cellular version of the Apple iPad Mini, but is it the tablet for you? • Apple iPad 4 with Retina Display Malaysia Review

Apple iPad 4 with Retina Display Malaysia Review

iPad 4 with Retina Display Pros:

Well, the first and most obvious highlight on the new iPad 4 is the Retina Display. It's the one element that never failed to impress us no matter what application was running on the screen. It's clear, it's bright, it's crisp; essentially it properly expands the smartphone experience onto a larger tablet and takes us into a new generation of displays.

We're also fans of the design of the new iPad - and yes, we know it's the same as before. We're not happy about the fact it's heavier than the iPad 2, but the build quality is something most other manufacturers long for, and are constantly trying to ape.

And then there's the user interface - another element that polarises opinion. We appreciate the power that can be had from widgets, there's something about the simplicity of the iOS UI that we just love - and simplicity counts for a huge amount in the burgeoning tablet market. Sure, it's ageing, but it works better on a tablet than on a smartphone.
