The mobile phone market last year saw a significant decrease in sales due to the global recession as well as supply chain issues in China. However, despite the shortcomings, a report by Canalys showed that Apple still dominated the Chinese smartphone market, especially in the high-end segment.

Some Apple iPhone 14 Pro series owners are reporting a strange bug which only happens when it is being booted up. Shared by several users of the device online, the bug involves flashing horizontal lines on the screen when their iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max are being turned on.

Previously, we reported that the new Crash Detection feature on the iPhone 14 series is mistaking roller coaster rides for car accidents, prompting Apple to say that “there’s no silver bullet” for the feature. Now, with the release of iOS 16.2 beta, Apple is letting users report to the company when Emergency SOS is unintentionally triggered on iPhones.

Apple is currently in the midst of rolling out the iOS 16.0.3 update to supported iPhones today which will fix several known issues with the previous version of iOS. These include bug fixes for mail app crashes and notifications as well as an improved camera experience for the iPhone 14 Pro lineup.

Love it or hate it, the Dynamic Island feature on the iPhone 14 Pro series has been the talk of the tech world recently. However, the current implementation of the interactive island over the device’s pill-shaped display cutout may soon change in iOS 16.1 as Apple recently added a grey border around the Dynamic Island in the latest version of the iOS beta.

Apple had a rocky start in launching the iPhone 14 series. Many have taken the issue of the rattling noise that the iPhone 14 Pro series makes to social media, demanding a fix. This is due to an iOS 16 bug impacting new device activation that is currently “under investigation” by Apple.

However, like other ‘common’ features adopted by Apple, the Always-On Display on the iPhone 14 Pro lineup has some notable refinements, including how it can automatically turn off if the user is no longer within the device’s vicinity.

In Malaysia, brands like to compare themselves to each other without calling out names outright. But Samsung isn't too shy to take direct digs at Apple, one of its biggest competitors in the smartphone market. Last week, the company released an ad to mock the iPhone 14 series and followed up with more.

Not quite sure if the Apple iPhone 14 will finally move away from notch, but the recent rumours and leaks are definitely persuasive. Until now, new CAD (computer-aided design) drawings of the iPhone 14 Pro have shown up with a cutout that we've seen from earlier reports, alongside narrower bezels compared with its predecessors.
