Today, Meizu has officially made its debut into the Malaysia market with two phones - Meizu M5 Note, and the premium yet affordable Pro 6 Plus for a price tag of RM849 and RM1999 respectively. The Meizu M5, which was announced in China late last year is now officially available in Malaysia. Pre-orders are now open with delivery expected to happen on 20th February 2017. The price is RM599 for the lower end model which has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. There are 2 colour choices available, namely Black and Gold, and all orders come with free gifts worth up to RM100 that includes a free screen protector, silicone case, as well as a 32GB microSD card.

Meizu made the Meizu M5s official today, as an upgrade to the regular Meizu M5, as well as being the successor to last year’s Meizu M3s. It gains a slightly more powerful MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor, with 3GB of RAM being standard across the range, while having the additional benefit of supporting VoLTE. The company also claims that the Meizu M5s now comes with mCharge Fast Charging, essentially a 18W charger, taking only 30 minutes to charge the battery to 56%.

This week Huawei dominated the news with their latest and greatest Huawei Mate 9 and Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 smartphones to go with a Huawei FIT smartwatch as well. Xiaomi managed to slip in their Redmi 4, Redmi 4A and Redmi 4 Prime smartphones while Olympus announced their OMD E-M1 Mark II DSLR will be going on sale in December 2016. The Meizu Pro 6S and Meizu M5 were officially announced while the Samsung w2017 flip phone officially arrived in China.

So it's official, Meizu has revealed the mysterious smartphone on Halloween called the Meizu M5. As previously rumoured, it's indeed an entry-level device but has very attractive colours (Mint Green, Blue, Matte Black, White, and Champagne Gold), and the body is made of plastic too.
