The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced that road users in the country can convert their probationary driving license (PDL) to the competent driving licence (CDL) through the MyJPJ app starting tomorrow (17 February). Malaysian online platform BJAK Sdn Bhd (BJAK) has become the subject of scrutiny this past week. This is after the Road Transport Department (JPJ) revealed that the company was never authorised by JPJ or the Transport Ministry to offer road tax renewal services, to which BJAK responded by clarifying that the service is only optional and now, free of charge.
Now, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook has also addressed the matter, saying that he is open to the company becoming JPJ’s strategic partner. However, the online platform must go through proper channels in doing so.
