The Samsung Galaxy Note series has always been a favourite for people who just love big screen devices with a stylus, it was only until the Note 7 broke that winning streak due to battery safety issues. With this, getting back the public's trust and faith was no easy task, but thankfully with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, we can safely say that Samsung has bounced back and even though it costs a hefty RM3999, allow us to tell you why the Note 8 is one of the best stylus-driven phablets to own.

Bestbuy recently revealed the price for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 without any carrier to be $929.99 (~RM3979) which makes it the highest priced Samsung Galaxy phone to date. On the other hand, according to the Verge, Samsung is offering former Galaxy Note 7 users up to $425 (~RM1818) to trade-in their current phones. No info as to which phones will let you reach this halfway point but none of them will likely offer the same S Pen goodness as the Galaxy Note 8.

Well, after the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 debacle, it is no wonder that people are still a bit touchy about its refurbished version, the Samsung Galaxy Note FE or Fan Edition. The folks at iFixit have teared down the Galaxy Note FE to confirm if there actually is a new battery in there. The short answer is yes but read on for the slightly longer answer.

The Wall Street Journal has further confirmed a previous rumour that the newly refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 7 sets will be officially launched next week at 7 July 2017.

Spotted on a South Korean retailer, the Galaxy Note FE has been price at 699600 KRW, this amounts to around RM2700 with specs similar to that of the original Galaxy Note 7.

After Samsung India denied that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 would get recycled with smaller batteries, Samsung Global has since responded that yes, "devices shall be considered to be used as refurbished phones or rental phones where applicable". Of course, there are conditions to this as Samsung have further explained that it depends entirely on whether the government and other regulatory authorities or carriers would be interested. No release dates or pricing details yet but Galaxy Note 7 devices that didn't make the cut will be recycled to extract precious metals in an environmentally friendly manner.

We reported yesterday that there are rumours alleging that refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 7 with smaller battery capacity will be sold in emerging markets, which included India and Vietnam. In a quick turn of events, looks like it'll not be happening, at least, not for India, as it had been refuted by Samsung India.

While Samsung might have had to deal with the disastrous Galaxy Note 7 fiasco last year, where ill-fated devices were plagued by explosions due to manufacturing and design defects in the battery, it seems that some news have surfaced that they are considering selling refurbished sets of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in developing countries.
The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 sets will allegedly carry a smaller battery, 3000mAh to 3200mAh, (down from the original 3500mAh), and would be available as soon as June 2017 in emerging markets like India and Vietnam.
