To supplement calls made with the usual cell towers, telco companies have been testing WiFi-Calling to extend their services to places where normal signals may not reach. After a number of delays, Google confirmed that their Project Ara modular smartphone will be shipping to developers in Q4 of 2016. The recent demo during Google I/O not only saw a fully working Project Ara smartphone but also the fact that you can now say "Ok Google, eject the camera" and have the camera module pop out on its own. Modules for checking blood glucose levels and more are expected, making Project Ara completely customizable.

While the recent Google I/O saw the announcement of Android N and all its features, some other noteworthy Google Projects were demoed as well with Project Soli being one of them. Featuring a radar-based control mechanism, users can control devices with finger or hand gestures from afar and the tech seems to be accurate enough to detect more complicated gestures as well.

A picture of what might be the ASUS ZenFone 3 Max has appeared. Confirming the metal frame and flat and thin design, the ZenFone 3 Max looks to have a 5.7-inch display with 720p resolution tech specs and will likely either retain the 5000 mAh battery that gave its predecessor the ZenFone Max a 1 week battery life or exceed it. The blurry picture doesn't help but it seems as if there will be either rear volume controls or a fingerprint sensor on the back.
