While the Sony PlayStation 4 got announced for Malaysia, Sony also announced the Sony PlayStation Vita Slim (PCH-2006) and Sony PlayStation Vita TV game consoles as well. While the WiFi capable PS Vita Slim is more portable it will be priced from RM859 while the non-portable (no display or battery) PS Vita TV will be priced from RM469. The PS Vita Slim is now 20% slimmer and 15% lighter than the PS Vita and come to Malaysia from 6 December 2013. The PS Vita TV on the other hand will be offered from 16 January 2014. If you like playing PlayStation Vita games then by all means get the PS Vita Slim but again we feel that the pricing is a bit high for the region, especially since the PS Vita Slim would only cost about RM600 or so in Japan.

Sony has recently announced the Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) console for Malaysia from a rather high price of RM1799. The Malaysia release date for the PlayStation 4 is set at 20 December 2013 and you can preorder the console online as well. It will have a regional warranty and not a country warranty, so you can get the same warranty for a PS4 bought in Singapore as one bought in Malaysia, provided that the PS4 has already been launched, so if you're thinking about getting the console overseas, better wait after the Malaysia release date. So far the pricing in Malaysia looks to be the highest in the region with the PS4 only going for RM1641 in Singapore and RM1393 in Hong Kong (the US price is just a mere RM1277). The standard package comes bundled with a Dual Shock 4 Controller, micro USB cable, Mono headset, power cable and HDMI cable. For an extra RM100 you can get the PlayStation Camera bundled as well at RM1899.

Motorola's Moto G may well stir the midrange pot a good bit with it's cut-throat price and Google enhanced features but rumours are swirling that the Moto X may soon go international just like it's little brother. This comes after the Moto Maker is finally no longer exclusive to AT&T and therefore no longer made just for the US market. Comments made by Motorola's various senior executives have indicated that we could soon see the Moto X appear in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Asia and Malaysia could soon follow suit. So far, the Moto X is currently being offered at a very tempting $299 (RM956) off contract. Specific Malaysia release dates are still not available though, but we're guessing it could arrive a bit later in 2014, possibly in Q3 to Q4 of 2014. Hopefully the price tag remains the same (or doesn't go higher).

Traditionally, most Nexus products and devices usually don't get named according to their brand makers and often times they are either called the Google Nexus 4 only. This has always been the official stance except for when Samsung did the Nexus S. Recent reports in Korea have highlighted the fact that if LG had their way, they'd have named the recent Google Nexus 5 the Nexus G. While it isn't a big secret that LG did make the recent Google Nexus 5 device, Google said no, perhaps to avoid confusion with other similarly named Google products like the Motorola Moto G. LG is well known for their G series of devices like the LG G2, LG G Flex, LG G Pad and many other LG G products.

Samsung and LG both recently came out with curved display smartphones in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Round and LG G Flex. While both show off what each company can do with flexible display technology, both don't really show off what a flexible display smartphone can do. Samsung looks to be changing that as they are applying for a US patent for a flexible wraparound display smartphone much like the one earlier seen at CES 2013 when Samsung showed off their Youm display devices. The patent application mentions that it is about a "Method and apparatus for operating functions of portable terminal having bended display" and indicates that this could be one of the first of Samsung's bended display smartphones, which were earlier spotted in a roadmap slide.

The Sony Xperia Z1s is supposedly the mini international version of Sony's flagship Xperia Z1 cameraphone. What makes it so different from all the other mini smartphones is that while the battery and screen size have been shrunk down to 4.3-inch display sized smartphone, the Xperia Z1s retains most of the hardware that makes the Xperia Z1 such an awesome cameraphone. This includes tech specs like the Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 20.7MP camera. Recently, leaked images of the Sony Xperia Z1s have leaked confirming this. While the overall design looks more or less the same as the Z1, the shrink makes the bezels look larger than they really are. The only noticeable change seems to be the Sony brand instead of DoCoMo which came out in the Japan only version. No details on specific Malaysia release dates but we expect the official announcment to come any day now. For now, check out the pics of the Sony Xperia Z1s in this article.

Motorola has finally launched their Moto G smartphone. The rumour that Apple may be making a smartwatch called the Apple iWatch in 2014 is getting more meat and details as other rumours pop up. One of the latest is that we may be getting two types or sizes of Apple iWatch come this 2014, a 1.7-inch Apple iWatch for men and a 1.3-inch Apple iWatch for women. This rumour comes courtesy of analyst David Hsieh who has been quite accurate so far about previous Apple products. While this prediction does not mention how exactly each Apple iWatch may look or what tech specs they may have, it is a very logical conclusion. Traditionally, watches are very different in terms of size for men and women, after all, you probably won't see a large Rolex or sports watch on a woman's wrist or vice versa. While Apple have traditionally followed the one-size-fits-all design paradign they recently changed this approach when they released the Apple iPhone 5S and Apple iPhone 5C, so the rumour of two different Apple iWatch smartwatches according to gender sounds like the right way to go. As usual, do take this with a pinch of salt, as a rumour remains a rumour until it is proven.

Back in August 2013, a couple of images leaked for the BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9982 which appeared to be a BlackBerry Z10 with Porsche Design elements. Recently, the smartphone has surfaced again, this time in a hands-on video. In this video it doesn't reveal much in terms of tech specs or features but if it is Z10 based, it would probably use the same hardware of a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.2-inch display and 1800 mAh battery. At the time of writing, the Z10 is currently priced at RM1899 so a BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9982 model could go for just a bit more than this and not the RM6000 or so it was initially expected to cost. No specific Malaysia release dates were available but it should be within the region soon. Check out the video for your self in this article.
