We were going to write about the rumoured Nexus 7 refresh which was supposedly going to be held here at Computex but ASUS had to go and release some early news about their MeMo Pad HD 7 tablet. Priced at a surprising $129 (RM398) and aimed at "developing markets" like Malaysia, it looks to be the next Nexus 7 killer if it maintains that price when it arrives here. This is because the tech specs for the MeMo Pad HD 7 are listed as:
- ARM Cortex A7 Quad-core processor
- 7-inch screen (IPS, 1280 x 800)
- 8GB / 16GB internal storage
- 5MP rear camera + 1.2MP front camera
- SonicMaster Audio
- Android 4.2
- 120.6 x 196.8 x 10.8mm | 302g

With Computex 2013 just around the corner next month, Asus are starting up the pre-hype engine by releasing appropriately named "We Transform" teaser trailers for the event. In what will be the first of five teaser videos for the Computex 2013, Asus show off what they've been working on, including the Asus Taichi, the Fonepad and the various Transformer Hybrid Laptops, Desktops and Tablets. People who have been keeping current and up to date with the Asus lineup can look and say "aha! I know what that is!".

Asus have already made a good name for itself in the tablet market but it never hurts to diversify. This could be the reason why Asus may release a smaller and lower priced Windows 8 tablet (and because Microsoft asked them to). Jerry Shen, Asus CEO also seemed to confirm this by saying that he believed prices for Windows 8 tablets would drop to an average of $300 by the end of 2013.

Intel continues it's slow but steady forward march into the tablet scene as rumours have appeared about a possible tablet known as the ASUS ME302C. Designed for the EeePad lineup the Asus ME302C may have the following specs:
- 1.6GHz Intel Atom Processor (Z2560)
- PowerVR SGX 544MP graphics
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- 10-inch screen (1920 x 1200 pixel resolution)

Great news from Celcom! They are offering the Asus Fonepad for only RM729 instead of RM849 as retail price in the Malaysia's market. As popularity continues to grow for the 7-inch tablet market, rumours about the 2nd Generation of Google Nexus 7 tablet have been swirling about. Some of these rumours include:
- A Qualcomm processor (instead of the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor in the previous version) for better power
- Higher resolution screen
- Thinner bezels and slimmer design
- Due in July
- Price drop from $199 to $149
- Previous model to be discontinued

Launched officially today (27-3-2013) in Malaysia, the ASUS Transformer AIO (P1801) offers the best of both worlds by offering both a desktop AIO form factor along with a portable 18.4 inch touchscreen tablet. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 is a 10.1in. tablet running Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). It comes with a keyboard into which the tablet docks in landscape mode. The idea is that you can use it for ultra-mobile tablet-style computing when travelling light, adding the keyboard when need to do some real work.
