Earlier this year, the OnePlus One stirred the market with its flagship killer features and affordable pricing. Now, we are hearing that the existing flagship will soon be replaced by the second generation model called the OnePlus Two. Company director, Carl Pei recently said that they were planning to announce the OnePlus Two in Q2 or Q3 next year. This confirms the earlier rumors about a Q2 2015 launch of the next OnePlus flagship.
“We are planning to announce the OnePlus Two in Q2 or Q3 next year,” Pei said. “So it is one year after this phone [OnePlus One].
OnePlus has not yet revealed anything about its upcoming flagship, but sources at Business Insider hint that the device will come with surprises. Meanwhile, the company is looking forward to launch the device in Malaysia. In fact, they have an opening for the position of General Manager in Malaysia at the moment. Given that OnePlus One is now available in India, we expect a Malaysia release soon as well. But if you can't wait for a few more months, you can purchase the device online for about RM1250 to RM1350 from third party sellers.

The OnePlus One sparked the revolution of flagship smartphone features and tech specs at affordable pricing with many other smartphone manufacturers following in their footsteps. Based on current stats, the OnePlus One has already sold 500000 units, when originally they only wanted to achieve 100000. However, while the OnePlus One is still fairly flagship level, it is showing signs of age and OnePlus seem to be recognizing this by coming out with a teaser image for a new OnePlus device. According to the translation of the teaser image, OnePlus stated:
"The theory of evolution applies to all things in the world, including technological devices, so stay tuned!"
This could indicate that the OnePlus Two or a OnePlus Tablet could be coming soon. While it is still too early to say what tech specs, features, Malaysia release dates or pricing will be available, many think that the new device will utilize 64-bit components. This could mean a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM (which is one of the advantages of a 64-bit system) and a 20.7MP rear camera. Stay tuned for more details as we'll let you know as soon as we do.

The OnePlus One smartphone was originally titled as the affordable flagship killer offering the latest tech specs at just $299 (RM978). However, getting it here in Malaysia would involve getting it from a third-party seller who usually price it above RM1K or so (there are import costs after all). However, that could all change as a job vacancy posting has revealed that they may be coming to Malaysia soon. The job vacancy posting located on their main site reveals that they are looking for a General Manager in Malaysia. Apart from tech specs that include a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 4G LTE Cat4 and a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, the OnePlus One is also one of the few smartphones to have optional wood back covers, so we're quite interested in them as well. No Malaysia release dates or pricing yet, but it should be as soon as a proper GM can be chosen, which could be the next couple of months or so. If you think you're the one for the job, then by all means, the sooner the better.

Reporting previously on the OnePlus One smartphone, we mentioned that the company was offering the smartphone for just $1 (RM3.26) for those willing to smash their smartphones. While there were quite a few submissions for the OnePlus One "Smash the Past" contest, many of these people didn't read the fine print in that from those who submitted their names, only 100 contestants would be picked and only then they'd be required to upload said videos. Suffice to say, there have been quite a few uploaded videos of smashed smartphones. Considering the injuries that you can get from doing so (flying glass, exploding battery, etc.) OnePlus have since changed their contest where contestants who have been picked will have to donate their smartphones to Medic Mobile which sends these phones to mobile healthcare workers in rural areas. Of the 140000 entries, 100 winners will be contacted to donate their phones so do keep your phone well and safe before that happens.
