Following in the footsteps of the Sony Xperia Z with it's tempered glass encased smartphones is Lenovo who recently revealed three new smartphones for the midrange. These would be the Lenovo S660, Lenovo S850 and Lenovo S860. Granted, only the Lenovo S850 has the premium glass encased chassis but the other two have interesting features as well. The Lenovo S860 should be noted as having a large 4000 mAh battery that can be used to charge other devices while the Lenovo S660 features a scratch and fingerprint resistant brushed metal backside, both of which are features you rarely see on a midrange smartphone. Samsung S8600 Wave 3 is a new Bada OS v2.0 based phone from Samsung. The new Samsung S8600 Wave 3 is the first phone based on Bada OS version 2.0. In the past, Samsung had released a smartphone based on Bada OS earlier but Samsung for the first time has introduced three phones at the same time with the same Bada OS version 2.0.
Samsung S8600 Wave 3: Display
Dominating the Samsung S8600 Wave 3 is the huge, 4.0 inch display, which uses an Super AMOLED screen that presents well, rendering images in sharp contrast, and providing decent legibility even in direct sunlight. The WVGA capacitive touchscreen display supports up to 16 million colours, and is protected by a Gorilla Glass covering, adding a level of strength and durability to one of the weakest parts of a modern phone.

Samsung’s first Bada handset, the Samsung Wave was a kind of a trailblazer for the company. The handset allowed the debut of the Super AMOLED screen technology and the Hummingbird processor of 1 GHz. The handset is sure to be a special place in the hearts of the techies. The Android is moving out slowly and the Bada is creeping in to the company’s portfolio. The Wave series of handsets include the popular Wave 525.
Samsung Wave II - Design:
The Wave II is quite bigger in size when compared with its predecessor. The handset has a display of 3.7 inches. The screen makes use of the Super AMOLED technology. The screen has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and supports 16 million colors. The Wave II is made of aluminum and has a larger profile that is comfortable to hold. The camera lens at the rear panel has a diamond shaped metallic opening. The handset is available in four different coloura such as black, white, pink and grey.

The Samsung Wave is the first smartphone created by the Koreans using its own Bada OS. With super-slim dimensions and a powerful processor chugging under the hood, can Samsung create a super phone in its own image?The Wave is Samsung’s attempt at shaping the smartphone model in its own image, sculpting things both inside and out, and that certainly shows in the build quality. With a ridiculously thin 10.9mm profile, the Wave is so pocket friendly you won’t even know it’s there; although it is over 1mm thicker than the new Apple iPhone 4. We’re sure Samsung is now angry to have created such a chunky unit.
