Given the way the Chinese government has been cracking down on games lately, it is unsurprising that Tencent finally gave up trying to get PUBG Mobile licenced in China. Instead, the publisher simply replaced the game with another in-house developed version of the battle royale called Game for Peace where PUBG Mobile players data will get transferred to automatically.

During the recent weekend on 26-27 January 2019, vivo Malaysia held a PUBG Mobile Malaysia National Championship (PMNC) tournament in Sunway Velocity Mall, Kuala Lumpur where the last 16 teams from across four different states (Johor, Sabah, Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur) came to compete with each other. Among all the teams, Gank.Fty came up as the champion and brought home a total cash prize pool of RM60,000, starting from the qualifiers until the Grand Finals.

Tencent recently launched their Tencent QQ Watch for Malaysian kids (and worried parents) for RM499 (for a 1 month promotional price, after which it will be RM569) . The smartwatch is a standalone device in that it can make calls, chat, take pictures and track the GPS location without needing a connected smartphone. Made using colourful anti-static food grade silica gel, the QQ watch is IP65 dust and water resistant so it can take sweat, rain or spills with ease. It is currently being distributed by Sibyl World and Ideal Vision Distribution and will soon appear at Popular book stores and Watsons stores.
