Fresh from the highest score of 94 on DxOMark for the Apple iPhone 8 Plus, DxOMark have awarded the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with the same score of 94 but mention the zoom in particular. Featuring 12MP dual-rear cameras and a wide-angle 26mm f/1.7 lens plus a 52mm telephoto f/2.4 lens with x2 optical zoom and x8 digital zoom, according to DxOMark the Galaxy Note 8 has the best zoom capabilities for a cameraphone to date. Apparently, the Galaxy Note 8 managed to get the highest score of 100 in the photography section for less noise and more details but doesn't do as well in video with a score of 84.

Finally, the long awaited 10th anniversary Apple iPhone X, along with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are revealed to the world. Are they expensive? Yes, yes and yes. As speculated from rumours, the iPhone X's price tag was correctly guessed at $999 (~RM4203), while the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus cost $699 (~RM2941) and $799 (~RM3361) respectively. Right on cue, Honor have officially and globally confirmed the Honor V9 (which was announced for China) as the Honor 8 Pro. We initially saw it a bit earlier with some hands-on pics but the tech specs have been confirmed to include a Kirin 960 processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 5.7-inch 2K or 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution display and Android 7.0 + EMUI 5.1 right out of the box. It will also have 4G LTE, NFC, 12MP dual rear cameras (one of them being monochrome), 8MP front camera, an infrared universal remote controller, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type C port and a hybrid Dual SIM slot. It will measure in at 157 x 77.5 x 6.97mm and 184g while still packing in a 4000 mAh battery.

The rumoured 2K display smartphone from honor and Huawei has been officially announced as the Honor Note 8. Featuring a 6.6-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution it also packs in the latest Kirin 955 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage for 2299 CNY (RM1394). Increasing storage to 64GB ups the price to 2499 CNY (RM1515) while the 128GB storage version is priced at 2799 CNY (RM1697). No Malaysia release dates yet but it will be available in China from 9 August 2016.
